Bangladeshi Cyclists

Rather than asking for speedy deletion, it would be great if you give us specific reasons as to why you think the article should be deleted from wikipedia. As far as I am concerned, each and every line of the article is based on facts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ridwanq (talkcontribs) 06:07, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

Mr. Rahat now you are crossing your limits. Who are you to tell that the logo has unnecessary description? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ridwanq (talkcontribs) 05:04, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

You seem to have a personal vendetta against BDCyclists, why is that? You haven't replied but you are still trying to delete the article. Can you please let us know why are you against it so that we can fix it?

However I have created the deletion discussion, It doesn't mean that I have to comment after every comment of other users. An administrator will determine whether the article to kept or delete. I am trying to make the article more neutral and advertise and promotion free. Don't add any promotional info like number of facebook group members or anything that promotes the organization in wikipedia because wikipedia is not a soapbox - Rahat | Message 11:51, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for your feedback and help in cleaning it up. We are not regular Wiki users and are bound to run into issues. Feel free to remove anything you feel is promotional and just keep the facts. And please don't call people sockpuppets without knowing who they are — Preceding unsigned comment added by Drabiralam (talkcontribs) 12:04, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

Welcome, As a conflict of interest rises here, i have handed the deletion issue to administrators. They are very neutral and helpful. I wish your article be kept. - Rahat | Message 12:52, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

Liberation war

Hi Rahat, Despite the "tilt" of their government, there was widespread political and public opposition to the Pakistani military campaign in the US. Listing it as an unofficial belligerent in war infobox is taking it too far. As for China, you might want to know that they refused to intervene militarily on Pakistan's side despite their earlier promises to protect East Pakistan.--ChaudhryAzan (talk) 16:05, 20 July 2013 (UTC)

Just declined a speedy deletion on Ahmedabad Heart Hospital

I declined it because the basic information was there, though well concealed. I tidied the article, but have put a PROD on it. It may or may not be notable. Don;t blame you for nominating it, mine was a borderline decision. Fiddle Faddle 10:43, 30 July 2013 (UTC)

A1, A3

An article where you can tell what the subject is about has context, and if it provides any information about it, it has content. Dunmore: Augustinian Friary says it's a convent in a particular place & therefore does both, tho the ref is inadequate. Sundatheria needs proper references, but is a proposed group of animals, and it says what they are. You might want to reread WP:CSD. DGG ( talk ) 23:19, 30 July 2013 (UTC)

Bangladeshi Tribunal

I noticed that you reverted an edit of mine at Ghulam Azam, but didn't respond to my rationale on the article's talk page. While it is possible that my initial judgment was wrong, I did provide a rather detailed explanation. It would really be better to respond on the talk page before simply reverting, as a simple edit summary won't really explain why the edit was reverted. MezzoMezzo (talk) 03:21, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

User:Zitu420 speedy declined

Hello, I've declined to speedy delete this as no criterion for speedy deletion applies. Please see WP:CSD for a list of speedy deletion criteria. It appears user is revising a copy of the article in their user space, perhaps looking toward proposing changes once their revisions are complete in the user space. I see you have not broached the matter of the user's page with the user. It would be better to initiate a discussion with the user rather than tagging their user page for deletion without discussion or preamble. Cheers, Dlohcierekim 14:29, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

Dear Dlohcierekim
The user is insulting the person by using 420 instead of the actual name of the actor in the lead section. Rahat | 14:56, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
Don't know what 420 means or why it would be an insult. It might be better to raise this matter with the editor in question. You could boldly remove the 420 and explain your reasoning on the editor's talk page. Cheers, Dlohcierekim 16:17, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

Query

Hi, By any chance, would you know of the Chittagong University Museum? Would it be associated in any way with CUET?--Bazaan (talk) 17:19, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

Thanks Bazaan for your Qurey, I visited the museum of Chittagong University last year. It is a prehistoric archeological museum established for the research of the students of Anthropology/history/Buddhist studies/Islamic history. I am not sure whether it has any association with CUET. However I saw there a small model of an old mosque created by the Architecture department of CUET.
May be visiting this museum is part of the studies of architecture students as they have a course in their 1st level named Architectural history or something similar.-- Rahat | 06:50, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for your response, and apologies for the late reply! The museum does indeed have a good collection of ancient Chittagonian artefacts. I was wondering if it's possible to get hold of pictures of a few objects which hold tremendous importance in Chittagong's history. I've been looking for permissible images of the Harikela coins [1], and also of a painting of the Mughal-Arakanese battle on the Karnaphuli river in 1666 (which is kept in the museum collection).
Since you reside in Chittagong, I was hoping if you would be interested in acquiring these pictures and uploading them to Wikipedia. You have after all, contributed a lot of important images of Bangladeshi history.--Bazaan (talk) 11:17, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
It is unfortunate that, taking picture is not permitted in the museum of chittagong university. However I will talk with my friends studying in CU if they could take some photos. - Rahat | 11:55, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
You can upload the picture of those coins to commons from Banglapedia with a FoP-Bangladesh or FoP-India or PD-ineligible tag. - Rahat | 12:07, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, I didn't know about FoP-Bangladesh. Regarding the museum, perhaps they would be willing to lend us a photograph of the Mughal-Arakan battle painting. It's all for public awareness after all. Thanks again.--Bazaan (talk) 13:38, 29 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi Rahat, Thanks for uploading the picture. I thought it would be a Mughal miniature painting. Any idea on when this painting was made? I am thinking that we add this to History of Chittagong. And yes the history section has many images, but all of them are significant historical paintings, and having them enhances the History section, especially given the huge lack of information.--Bazaan (talk) 02:11, 12 September 2013 (UTC)

The image caption in CU museum says it was a battle between mughal and arakan on 1660 (not 1666!). Don't know the date of painting. My friend who captured it didn't notice the artists name or date of creation. Rahat | 03:06, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
Apologies, I read somewhere that it was 1666. The painting however seems to be a modern one, I was of the impression that it was an original antique.--Bazaan (talk) 15:29, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
wiki article of Chittagong also says it was 1666. Which one should be regarded as truth? I am confused. Rahat | 08:03, 13 September 2013 (UTC)

A Daily Star article also said it was 1666. But there were several Mughal-Arakan wars before the final conquest in 1666, so it could be any year before 1666 really. I was hoping CU had antique painting collections of this time.--Bazaan (talk) 12:38, 13 September 2013 (UTC)

CUET logo vectorization

Hi Rahat, few months ago you were requested me to vectorized CUET logo. I told you to give me a clear and large .jpg (or other bitmap) version of that logo. I have few friends from CUET, I asked them to send me a clear and large version of their university logo, but the don't have any. I have google for this, but didn't get any. Can you managed that? If yes, send me that. Now I have some free time to do vectorization work. :) --FreemesM (talk) 10:20, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

Thanks Freemesm for your interest. Present logo in the article of CUET was later uploaded by me after I had asked you to vectorize it. It is more clearer from the old one and I have removed its background also. Please watch the logo if it is clear enough to vectorize. If not than I will provide you a logo of bit higher resolution at today night. - Rahat | Message 10:34, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

Tarique Rahman and citations

So you are saying the link I have provided is not reliable? Sir, with due respect to you. I work as a researcher in Kalurghat Cyeber Station. I am one of those who has read his new book.

And to make you sure about this, Tarique Rahman is not attempting to earn a Bar-at-Law in London. You may talk to him if you want. I hope you don't know him better than me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Endeavorbd (talkcontribs) 04:04, 6 November 2013 (UTC)

Tarique Rahman Biography

I am done with the new book on Tarique Rahman, The Political Thought of Tarique Rahman. I am quoting some lines from there for you.

"Tarique entered the University of Dhaka as a student of International Relations, a subject of his choice. While in the University, he read political thoughts of Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Hobbes, Locke, Roussou, Voltaire, Karl Marx and other exceptional thinkers. He concentrated more on socio-economic and political subjects, including the in-depth study of the gradual development of democracy and the dynamics of economic liberalisation. Tarique graduated in a volatile situation at the height of the nationwide movement against the autocratic regime of Hussain Muhammad Ershad, which his mother Begum Khaleda Zia was leading."

He is a Masters in International Relations, one of his classmates who is now a professor of the same subject has confirmed us this information. If you are willing to know more, go and ask the teachers. Imtiaz Ahmed sir knows him very well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Endeavorbd (talkcontribs) 07:05, 10 November 2013 (UTC)

Dear Dinu Alam, Thank you very much for contacting me. I am very happy to know the original photographer of that historic photo. While uploading the photo to Wikipedia, I searched throughout the internet for the name of the original photographer and knew that the back view of Noor Hossain was taken by Pavel Rahaman but I couldn't find the name of the photographer of Noor's face.

I have added your name to the image description page. - Rahat | Message 19:35, 11 November 2013 (UTC)

If you give me permission, I will upload the image of Noor Hossain's front view to Wikimedia Commons with a Free License so that the image can be used in any article of English wikipedia as well as other language wikis. The present image used in Noor Hossain article was uploaded under a fair use policy which permits use of the image only in a single article. Subject: Re: New Article : Shohid Noor Hossain Day‏ Sent: Tue 11/19/13 8:55 PM From: MD ALAM (dinu@bell.net) To: Rahat Rahim (ctg4rahat@gmail.com)

Hello Rahat Bhai, Thank's for replying with my answer. I just visit the page "1987 protest for democracy in Bangladesh", nice. U was working on the page, just before the e-mail. On my point of view, the name will be more appropriate "Nov 10 1987 protest for democracy in Bangladesh". Because, all of my photo has been taken on Nov 10 1987, like we call the day "Dosh-E November, Noor Hossain Debosh". There was several protests all year long in 1987 along with Nov 10, Noor Hossain caught the imagination of the nation with his slogan “Shoirachar Nipat Jaak" written on his bare chest, Published on "Weekly Natun Barta" cover page and "Gonotontro Mukti Paak" on his bare back Published on "Weekly Robbar" cover page next day. It was not the end of the protests, which eventually turned into a mass uprising that led to the fall of military ruler Ershad on December 6,1990. Protest for democracy in Bangladesh end then.

However, I was thinking to request U for a new Article to Propose or Create as "Shohid Noor Hossain Day" (Debosh). and that's where all my photo belongs. In Bangladesh, Noor Hossain Day observed in a befitting manner in remembrance of the young campaigner for democracy who sacrificed his life @ Zero Point Dhaka on November 10, 1987 when he was in demonstrations against the autocracy of Hussain Mohammad Ershad. The anniversary of his death is officially commemorated each year as "Shohid Noor Hossain Day" (Debosh) in Bangladesh. Different political parties and socio-cultural organisations paid tributes to Noor Hossain for his supreme sacrifice every year on this date. Will U please contribute a Article for Shohid Noor Hossain and our future generation to the Wikipedia as a Expert Editor, On the name of "Shohid Noor Hossain Day" (Debosh).

Like.......... "Ekushe February, Matri Vasha Debosh" "International Mother Language Day" - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. International Mother Language Day is an observance held annually on 21 February worldwide. "16 December, Bijoy Debosh" Victory Day (Bangladesh) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Like all the special day's we have, "Debosh" we celebrate or contribute.

Anyway, if U ask me, I will say :

There Should be Two Article on Shohid Noor Hossain's name.

(1). Noor Hossain (Activist), - with all the detail Biography etc.
(2). "Shohid Noor Hossain Day" - with all the activity's on that day, can be updated every year

with new information and links'. Sorry, if I mislead U different way than U have to be. I just explained my heart.

I see you found a news.priyo.com source instead. Do you know what and who this publisher is? It looks like a news aggregator/translator of some sort. They don't describe themselves, so technically they don't meet WP:RS either. However, I do see a large number of editors using it as a source. I've been looking for an editor that could explain what type of publisher they are. What do you think about them? --Ronz (talk) 03:06, 17 November 2013 (UTC)
Ronz, Some but not all news of priyo are aggregation/mirror of other news sites. Such as this news was published on The Daily Sun which priyo mirrored and clearly stated below the headline of the news. But this news was published by priyo themsel8es. They provide lots of news about Bangladeshi media which other news sites do not. - Rahat | Message 03:56, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the explanation! --Ronz (talk) 18:21, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

About Bangladeshi martial arts

Hi, user:Morinae making consistent vandalism in Bangladeshi martial arts, Lathi Khela, Boli Khela articles. You can see the talk pages. He is mixing up these articles with Indian martial arts and trying to merge with others. He is not waiting for others writing or updating and he is not stick to Wikipedia norms. - (Mohd. Toukir Hamid (talk) 07:14, 19 November 2013 (UTC))

Toukir Hamid vai, I have started a discussion about that user at Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest/Noticeboard#Bangladeshi_martial_arts. Please comment there. If you have good references than provide them with your comment. Have you searched google books for your article references? I think you can find some some good references in google books. - Rahat | Message 08:47, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
OK, I will try.(Mohd. Toukir Hamid (talk) 08:55, 19 November 2013 (UTC))
If you have any picture of Boli khela, Lathi khela or Bangladeshi martial arts, please upload those images. I will try my best. Thank you. (Mohd. Toukir Hamid (talk) 09:05, 19 November 2013 (UTC))

You shouldn't have reverted my edit on Fossil Fuel Power Stations

It was very conservative for a first edit.

I took out a statement that was easy to falsify, that until governments add regulations on pollution there will be no methods for carbon capture and storage. This statement is patently false because there are many ways for carbon capture and storage outside of government regulations. Moreover, this statement has no citation which means it is baseless.

Next, I added citation needed for the statements concerning brown vs. black coal CO2 emission in combustion, because for a matter of chemistry trivia such as that, a citation is CLEARLY needed.

Now as a beginner editor on Wikipedia, I am honestly appalled that an advanced editor such as yourself would so easily revert an edit with no good reason to falsify it. Give me a good reason, or undo your reversion immediately.

Teleohapsis, thanks for your edit in wikipedia. I have re-reviewed your edit and accepted those info as you have explained the reason behind it. But please remember to provide a reliable source with your addition and also remember not to add any original research in the article in the text. And also remember that the lead section of any article is added after a consensus. You have to propose the change of lead section in the talk page of that article first. - Rahat | Message 16:43, 23 November 2013 (UTC)

Message from Unmesh

Dear Rahat,

I hope you are in good mood and health. This is a humble request to a veteran Wikipedian like you from a small fish like me. It appears that you deleted non-neutrality tag from the Dipu Moni article. Please do not do that. The article is just a copy pasting of her official biodata of the ministry of foreign affairs webpage and hence heavily biased. The opinions of few other wikipediams on the talk page of the article also bears the same view and you should not disregard there opinion. So until the biased tone is not resolved please please please do not again remove the tag. With warmest regards Unmesh Bangali (talk) 06:01, 25 November 2013 (UTC)

Hello! Unmesh, I have copy edited the the article to bring neutrality. Removed materials that violates WP:POV and added cn tag where references are not given. If you think the article still contains pov materials, than you can re-add the tag. - Rahat | Message 06:07, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
