File copyright problem with File:MosharrafKarim1.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:MosharrafKarim1.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Leo 03:51, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Architecture Khulna University 01.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Architecture Khulna University 01.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Theleftorium (talk) 15:07, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Barisal / Barisal City[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Barisal City a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Barisal. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Any particular reason you're creating user subpages in someone else's userspace? Also please note the image File:Liverpool City Council logo.gif is a non-free image and can not be used in userspace, per WP:NFCC #9. --Hammersoft (talk) 20:57, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your message. I was unaware about the Liverpool city council logo user restriction. I thought it represent Liverpool best, thats why I used it there. At the same time I do not know if any wikipedian lives in Liverpool or not, I thought Liverpool is the fourth largest populated city of England and it should have unique representation as userspace. --Arparag (talk) 02:27, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Arparag, There are a bunch of userboxes I've created in my userspace that people use, so I'm neither surprised nor bothered if someone creates one there. Feel free to leave it where it is or move it to User:Arparag/Userboxes/Liverpool if you want, but it is probably safest to create any more you do in your own userspace, apart from anything editors are pretty free to delete anything in their own userspace except for their talkpage. So if I eventually retire or lose my temper and block the mainpage or delete Jimbo there is a risk that in the aftermath your userbox could be deleted.
Hope you don't mind my choice of picture for it. I find it safest to only use pictures from our image library Wikimedia Commons - the English language Wikipedia allows some "fair use" images that can only be used in the article where we are claiming a "fair use" rationale, but this just risks people using them as if they are as usable as the rest of our content as you did. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Bangladeshis in Maldives requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Hello Arparag. I noticed you, or another editor created a Requests for Adminship page under your name, and I was wondering as to what the status of that request might be. If you are still intent on running for adminship with that request, please do let me know; otherwise, I'll go ahead and delete the RfA page for you in about a week or so from today. Eagles 24/7 (C) 03:32, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Eagles247, Thanks for your message. Yes I like to be an administrator. Please take necessary step, if there any. Thanks in advance. --Arparag (talk) 19:24, 14 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I strongly recommend not running, as you only have 407 edits. It is very rare for candidates with less than 3000 edits to pass an RfA and you have a very low chance of passing yourself due to experience concerns. However, if you still wish to run, you will need to transclude your request at WP:RFA by following the instructions at WP:RFA/N. It is entirely up to you, but please consider my advice. Deletion discussion about Our Freedom[edit]

Hello, Arparag,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Our Freedom should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Our Freedom .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Gangatia Zamibar Bari requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay.
