Adultery article - need your help

Hi,

There seems to be a problem with the "adultery" article. Three users, including myself, have tried to keep Atom (another user) from inserting his POV. He persists in trying to define adultery as a married woman having sex with someone other than her spouse as commiting adultery, but a married man having sex with someone other than his wife as fornication. However, there are several defintions to support that adultery is defined as "extramarital sex with someone other than your spouse", yet Atom will not relent. Would you be willing to join the discussion to ensure the article is a NPOV? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Buster

I will look into it. ~ Arjun 04:36, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi Arjun! I just started the Portal above (trying to model it after Portal:Hinduism. :), but I have a question. How often should the selected article, picture, and biography be changed? Is there an article somewhere explaining how to maintain a portal? You're already an expert on this, so I'd appreciate help. :-) · AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 13:36, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Chess is already FA, so I think that's better. Ok, you said the page would be Featured Article/February 7, 2007, right? Then I just transclude that onto the portal section? · AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 13:55, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Okay, thank you. (sorry I took a while to respond, I wasn't around. :) · AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 17:58, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Oh, wait, one more question. :-) Do I have to change the date every day (i.e. tommorow Portal:Strategy Games/Selected Article/February 8, 2007), or every time I change the article (eg. Portal:Strategy Games/Selected Article/February 14, 2007)? (forgot to sign, sorry I'm a few hours late. :) · AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 00:45, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Okay, I will. If I ever have problems, I'll check your portal. :-) · AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 00:49, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Ok, question. :-) How your portal's selected article looks like this in edit mode:

, but mine looks like this:

Chess is a recreational and competitive strategy game of skill for two players. Sometimes called Western Chess or International Chess to distinguish it from its predecessors and other chess variants, the current form of the game emerged in Southern Europe in the second half of the 15th century, after evolving from similar, much older games of Asian origin. Today, chess is one of the world's most popular sports, played by an estimated 605 million people worldwide in clubs, online, by correspondence (mail and e-mail), in tournaments (amateur and professional) and informally. Aspects of art and science are found in chess composition and theory. Chess is also advocated as a way of enhancing mental prowess.

? It seems as if you used a template, could you point me in the right direction? (it also seems to add the "read more" and "archives" links). · AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 00:54, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

I owe you another barnstar after this; thank you for your patience. Question #194: I'm trying to make the Portal:Strategy Games/Selected article look like Portal:Hinduism/Selected article, but whatever I put in goes to the main page section. When I subst'd the selected article into the main page section, I subst'd Portal:Strategy Games/Selected article/1, but it doesn't work, as if /1 didn't exist (I'm confusing myself). I've no idea how to go on, and I could really use your help. · AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 01:48, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

I've got it working manually for now. I'll ask your friend about auto rotation when he comes back. Thanks for your help! · AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 11:52, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

My last RfA/me

Hi Arjun! You opposed my last RfA in late November 2006. There were opposes citing civility and inexperience with policy. It's about 3 months after that, and I think I've gained more experiance in policy and more emotional stability on-wiki. Recently I've been doing a bit of Wikipedia:WikiProject Spam stuff, though this last week I haven't had a great deal of time. Anyway, I was considering an RfA in a month or two, and I wanted to ask a few people if they had any recommendations as to what I should to or criticisms over the last few months. Thanks for reading! Thanks for your thanks :-). I have full confidence that you have the necessary experience and will make a great admin (WP:100 is no small level of support). Can I ask a small favour as I notice you've been looking through the page protection requests? I made a request that is slipping off the bottom of the page as Wizardman changed his mind. Thanks for that. I know it wasn't the most routine of requests but it hopefully should ensure that any valid objections to the article's content are aired rather than descending into a revert war. WjBscribe 00:40, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

My RfA

Word of thanks for Arjun01
Good morning (GMT time); I'd like to thank you for supporting, opposing, taking a neutral stance to, closing, suggesting I close or otherwise contributing to my recent RfA; unfortunately, I felt that although there were more support than oppose votes, the weight of the latter was too great for me to accept the promotion with so many not trusting me with the janitor's trolley -
I therefore decided to end my nomination prematurely. The feedback I received was invaluable, and I am striving to start afresh with all of the advice my fellow Wikipedians offered. In order to meet the aim of adapting to your advice, I've drew up a list of aims (located here) which I intend to follow from this point onwards. at my talk page where it will be graciously and humbly accepted. Once again, thank you and I do hope to bump into you around the encyclopedia!

Regards,
Anthonycfc [TC]
