Request for Mediation[edit]

A request for mediation has been filed with the Mediation Committee that lists you as a party. The Mediation Committee requires that all parties listed in a mediation must be notified of the mediation. Please review the request at Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/List of Lost Episodes, and indicate whether you agree or refuse to mediate. If you are unfamiliar with mediation, please refer to Wikipedia:Mediation. There are only seven days for everyone to agree, so please check as soon as possible.

The request has been restored, please list your agreement to mediate.

Would you like to be a party of the mediation? We are more or less waiting on your agreement.

I have signed my name on the mediation list, I hope things go well regardless of my busy personal schedule. ArgentiumOutlaw 06:21, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ArgentiumOutlaw,

Regarding User cowbell2 I userfied this template, along with a few others, to help prevent it from being deleted as part of a compromise known as The German Solution. It was not singled out, but a part of my first series of userfications (seen here: User:Xaosflux/UBX, and I put a note on it * as to it's status. Currently it appears that you are the only one using this userbox. Like your self, I (and many others appreciate the cowbell. If this tempalte stays in Template: space, it may be subject to deletion in the near future. In movnig it to my userspace I am not claiming ownerhip of the template at all, and will not be deleting or altering it adversely. I would like to move it back with the other cowbells, but will not edit war over it with you. If this is OK let me know, and I'll delete the redirect so I can move it back. If you favor the 'bell you may also want to add your self to Category:User Cowbell. Please let me know if it's OK to move back. — xaosflux Talk 04:17, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I guess it's not really a problem, I thought you were kind of taking posession of it. Is there any way to put the userbox in my userspace? If there is, how would I do that? Also, thanks for taking the time to post on my page rather than just reverting and edit warring. I wish more wikipedians would be as level headed and courteous. ArgentiumOutlaw 21:43, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There are two options for putting it your own space, one you can just bring in the code, by doing {{subst:User cowbell2}}, that will copy just the CODE of the template, but still leave it out there. You can also use the MOVE feature to move the tempalte to a sub page (e.g.) User:ArgentiumOutlaw/Userboxes/User cowbell2. Then others can use it by linking to your copy. These types of moves are discussed in detail on WP:TGS. If you do that, you will probally want to add your 'User userbox' to the listings at one of the user catalogs, such as this one. — xaosflux Talk
Cool, I've already begun working on it. Thanks for the help. ArgentiumOutlaw 18:22, 11 June 2006 (UTC) 13:05, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This page contains Image:Lost no image.png, a copyrighted image. It's use in a user template does not appear to meet the fair use requriements. You may want to replace it with a free image, or with text. — xaosflux Talk 20:41, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

On a side note, I do like the box! — xaosflux Talk 20:41, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, my mistake, I assumed a lot more about the german solution than there actual was to it. Also, thank you for the kind words, and I have to say that you are one of the kindest people to alert me of a problem on my page or the way I did something. Usually I get harsh warnings and people kind of 'tampering' with my page without letting me know what's going on. I'm glad you were kind about it. Wikipedia needs more people like you. ArgentiumOutlaw 02:39, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you back for the kind words, if you need anything, leave me a message on my talk page. — xaosflux Talk 03:02, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Vandalise" page.[edit]

Shouldn't your vandalize counter be pretty high right now? ArgentiumOutlaw 22:55, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

I don't count posts made to that page. I count actual vandalism to my user page and talk page. — Nathan (talk) 16:46, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
So basically it's a counter for vandalism with malicious intent and not vandilism with humorous intent (to the user, not the vandilizer). Gotcha. I wasn't actually expecting a reply to my question though, I was just having fun. ArgentiumOutlaw 20:59, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Heads-Up Regarding Your 'Lost' Vote[edit]

The closing admin closed it in favor of keeping it, despite six delete votes, one merge/delete vote, one keep vote, and one transwiki vote. The matter is up for deletion review here and the article has been nominated for a second time here. As you were involved in the original process, I wanted to alert you so you could take action as you saw appropriate. I will not be adding your response to my watchlist, so please respond either to my talk page or to one of the two venues this is being discussed. — Mike • 04:03, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

World Cup 2006 logo.png removed from your user page[edit]

An image or media file, Image:World Cup 2006 logo.png, has been removed from your userpage or user talk page because it was licensed as fair use. Wikipedia's fair use policy states that fair use images should only be used in the article namespace. As a result, although users are often given a great amount of latitude in the type of content that is allowed on their user pages, it is requested that you abide by this policy. Feel free, however, to add images and media files licensed under other terms. For more information, see Wikipedia's fair use policy and an accompanying essay on the removal of fair use images. Thank you for your cooperation.

I don't care what is considered acceptable at other users' pages, but in the spirit of courtesy and decency, please request that I change the template, instead of just removing it and changing my pages at your own leisure. I would think a person who is a member (or at least an advocate of) Esperanza, would know not to irritate people by doing what you did. I'm only going to say this part once, so read carefully: REGARDLESS of whether or not I wasn't allowed to have a fair use image in my namespace, you could have been kind about it and simply told me the mistake I made and suggested that I remove it. Please do not edit my page without letting me know. Although by the rules you technically are allowed to, I request that you please not. Also your last line "Thank you for your cooperation", I haven't cooperated yet, you did it without telling me. Finally, I apologize if my comments seemed rude, that wasn't my intention. Your Request for Mediation[edit]

Hello, ArgentiumOutlaw

My name is ^demon, and I am going to mediate the case that you requested concerning the episodes of Lost. Right now, before we continue, I would like to know if you prefer public or private mediation. If you could just let me know over at your request for mediation, I would be most grateful. Have a pleasant evening.

Regards,
^demon[yell at me][ubx_war_sux] /02:54, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Beginning Mediation[edit]

Dear ArgentiumOutlaw,

After requesting the preference of mediation, the consensus appears to be public, with one person not responding (and has appeared to have left the project for the time being), and one person abstaining due to being away for the summer. This being decided, let us begin. I figure the easiest place to centralize all discussion can be the talk page of the RfM. Thanks for your time, and if you'll go there now, you'll see that I've begun a discussion on the topic. Thanks very much.
