Why did you delete most of my edits? Uplinkspygirl (talk) 22:40, 4 November 2023 (UTC)

History, services, assets all existed on that page for over a decade. I simply added current information. Why would you delete that? Uplinkspygirl (talk) 22:41, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
On a separate note, I don't know how to change the logo. I'm somewhat new to this. There is a new logo on their website. Can you change? Uplinkspygirl (talk) 22:42, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
No, thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:05, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

Hello, Another Believer,

I just came across this draft looking over the list of "expiring drafts" for the next few hours. I delayed the deletion but I was wondering if you had any interest in polishing this draft up enough to warrant a move back to main space. If not, that's fine, just thought I'd ask given your expertise in creating articles on Portland, OR landmarks. Liz Read! Talk! 05:39, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

The org's probably notable but I'm not too concerned about rescuing this particular draft. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 05:44, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

Drag queens

Extended content

What I'm doing is an AWB run of pages that are in the Category:Canadian LGBT people by occupation tree, but are not simultaneously in the Category:Canadian LGBT people by century tree. This means that everybody I'm editing is already in one or more LGBT X categories anyway, because they would never have shown up in my batch job at all if they weren't — and because AWB is just a tool for performing automated edits and not a tool for evaluating or reviewing content, I have no way to tell if any given category is problematic or not. So if there is a problem with anybody not being properly sourced as LGBT, that's not a "me doing bad things now" problem, it's a "somebody else did bad things before" problem.
If you think anybody has sourcing problems, then feel free to remove any categories from them that aren't supported by proper sources — but anybody who showed up in my batch at all is already in the LGBT tree as it is, and AWB is only a tool for determining who is in a category while being absolutely useless at the question of whether they should be or not, so that's simply not a determination I can make in the process of an AWB batch run. WCNA 2023 Barncompass
Thank you for all your contributions made towards Toronto as a result of WCNA 2023. I am awarding this barncompass to you. (Barncompass originated in Wikivoyage as a response to Wikipedia's barnstar. Since everyone travelled long distance for the conference and would have no doubt pulled out a map app at some point, awarding a barncompass is probably as fitting as a barnstar.) Invite template for WP:LGBT (part 2)

Extended content

Hi Another Believer,

I return to our discussion about an Invite template for WP:LGBT.

Please have a look at User:Peaceray/sandbox/Wiki Loves Pride invite.

This is agnostic enough that it could be moved either into the Template namespace or as a subpage to WP:WLP. Once moved, the only change that would need to happen would be to remove the <nowiki></nowiki> tags from the categories on the /doc page.

Let me know about any changes that you have to suggest. Or should I start up a discussion at WT:WLP? Peaceray (talk) 05:51, 25 November 2023 (UTC)

@Peaceray Hi! No problem with having an invite for the annual Wiki Loves Pride campaign, but our initial discussion was about an invitation for WikiProject LGBT studies. Have your changed your focus for this template? Also, feel free to post at WikiProject LGBT studies, if you'd like, as there's a larger audience there than Wiki Loves Pride. ---Another Believer (Talk) 12:07, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
Right you are! I should have checked our earlier conversation rather than merely linking to it. OK, now there are two invites:
The latter had a couple of mistakes that I have corrected. Peaceray (talk) 22:20, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
@Peaceray Overall, these are great! For Wiki Loves Pride, you might consider changing "a group of editors that seeks to create, expand, improve, and maintain LGBT+ articles" to "a campaign to create and improve LGBT-related coverage" or similar. Semantics, really. Feel free to solicit feedback at WP LGBT studies and move into the main space whenever you are ready! ---Another Believer (Talk) 05:42, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
I made the text change. I will move the templates into the Template space & then ask for feedback on the talk page. They will not really get used until they are listed in-project.
Moving into the Template space has advantages since if becomes necessary to protect the templates then one has to be a template editor or an admin to make changes. Peaceray (talk) 05:58, 27 November 2023 (UTC)

Statue of Süreyya İlmen moved to draftspace

Extended content

Thanks for your contributions to Statue of Süreyya İlmen. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and Single source only says "His statue was erected in Yoğurtçu Park, for which he made great efforts", no significant coverage.. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Extended content

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:28, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

Recent edit reversion

Resolved
Extended content

In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.

I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.

I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. S Philbrick(Talk) 02:12, 29 November 2023 (UTC)

I apologize for making some errors lately, I'm not trying to do it intentionally, I swear. I guess I'm just not as used to working with huge blocks of text and sfn as I could be. Anyways, I've been trying to fix the CS1 errror that this edit apparently created and I can't for the life of me figure out what I messed up. I used the find feature in my browser and it doesn't look like I have any empty title parameters which would be the most obvious solution, at least to me? Your GA nomination of Fat's Chicken and Waffles

The article Fat's Chicken and Waffles you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Fat's Chicken and Waffles for comments about the article, and Talk:Fat's Chicken and Waffles/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has never appeared on the Main Page as a "Did you know" item, and has not appeared within the last year either as "Today's featured article", or as a bold link under "In the news" or in the "On this day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear at DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On this day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Message delivered by ChristieBot, on behalf of APK -- APK (talk) 02:04, 13 December 2023 (UTC)

Thanks again! ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:52, 29 December 2023 (UTC)

Since you're quite the expert on local restaurants, does this article look promotional? I tried to avoid that, but every source was very positive. APK hi :-) (talk) 01:48, 13 December 2023 (UTC)

@APK I'm more of a content creator than a reviewer, as evidenced by my many GAs but lack of GA reviews. I've been accused of not including negative info in restaurant articles, but as long as the summary is representative of coverage then you should be fine. I would recommend asking for feedback, or even review, at WikiProject National Register of Historic Places. I think the project is generally active and there might be reviewers familiar with standards for NRHP-related restaurants. Happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:03, 15 December 2023 (UTC)

Yet another Daily Dozen Doughnut Company thread

Can scarcely believe it's been more than a year since that surreal AfD... I'd placed the article on my watchlist and am glad to see it back in the mainspace again. Scope_creep's suggestion that you're an undisclosed paid editor (unless he had something or somebody else in mind when he said "The more time passes the more I think this editor is a UPE.") is definitely deserving of censure (at the very least!). Anyway, kudos to you and happy new year! KINGofLETTUCE 👑 🥬 20:03, 31 December 2023 (UTC)

@Kingoflettuce Don't hold your breath. This editor has made many similar comments about me in the past. I've been documenting and have plenty of receipts, and I've also told them to leave me alone many times. I'm not holding my breath the community will do anything about it, so I just ignore the BS and keep editing. Who knew little donuts could cause so much drama!? Pings to ChristieBot

Hi -- I just got a ping (well, ChristieBot got the ping, and that pings me) from this edit, but I'm not sure what you were doing there -- are you just moving the notifications around? If so, it would be helpful if you'd drop (or {{noping}}) the mentions of ChristieBot to avoid pinging me unnecessarily. Thanks (and Happy New Year!) -- Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 21:03, 31 December 2023 (UTC)

@Mike Christie Sorry! I was just merging sections for organizational purposes, before an end-of-the-month archive. I thought "pings" only happened when new signatures were added, so apologies for the false alarms. Happy New Year and happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:07, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
You know, you're right -- they should only happen when new signatures are happening. My guess would be that if you move the section the algorithm doesn't realize it's only moving it and things you're actually writing a whole new section, so it adds a ping.
