Yes, thank you for pointing that out, I was involved in sales at Longbridge for some years. The Mini became a Marque in it's own right, just like the Montego and Maestro although they are often called "Rover" Minis to distinguish between the new "BMW" MINI. Some Japanese market Minis carried the ROVER name on the back and some even had the full "Viking" crest on the bonnet badge. The reason the "Classic" Mini was branded "Mini" only in it's later years was for a seamless transition to the new BMW model.
