Calley

Hi, considering Thomas Calley (born 1856) was an MP for less than a year, thoughts on changing his disambiguation to Thomas Calley (British Army officer) ? Pickersgill-Cunliffe (talk) 13:44, 29 December 2023 (UTC)

@Pickersgill-Cunliffe I swithered about that for a bit - I think my worry was that if one was (officer) it would suggest the other should be (MP) which I was keen to avoid. Happy for you to move it if you prefer, though! Andrew Gray (talk) 13:48, 29 December 2023 (UTC)
Thomas Calley (British Army officer) and Thomas Calley (politician)? Pickersgill-Cunliffe (talk) 13:51, 29 December 2023 (UTC)
@Pickersgill-Cunliffe Those would work, I think! Just drafting the elder's article now but can slot it in wherever seems best. Andrew Gray (talk) 13:55, 29 December 2023 (UTC)
I'll leave it to you so as to not upset the article creation. Thanks! Pickersgill-Cunliffe (talk) 13:56, 29 December 2023 (UTC)
@Pickersgill-Cunliffe And done! I haven't unwound all the (born X) links as they all now cleanly redirect, but the main articles are in the right slots and we haven't any double redirects left.
(On a little roll just now - there are exactly six post-Reform MPs left without articles and seeing if I can get them all done by the New Year...) Andrew Gray (talk) 14:32, 29 December 2023 (UTC)
@Pickersgill-Cunliffe on this note, curious to know what you would recommend for Joseph Feilden and Joseph Feilden (died 1870). The former article has had a bit of a messy history - it started out about one, confused them for a few years, and then settled on the other - so inbound links are a mess and a disambig page seems warranted. Both were MPs, albeit for different seats, and I've stuck the father at (died 1870) for the moment, but I'm not sure what the most appropriate long-term solution might be - (British Army officer) and (Blackburn MP)? Andrew Gray (talk) 13:37, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
I think your suggested disambiguations work there. I note as well that the elder Feilden is not yet linked on the Blackburn page because the link used there is Joseph Feilden (1792–1870). I'll try and add a little to Feilden the younger's article while we're on the subject. Pickersgill-Cunliffe (talk) 13:52, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
@Pickersgill-Cunliffe Sounds good, thanks. I've renamed both and made a disambig at the original title. Andrew Gray (talk) 15:24, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
