Hi Andrei. Thank you for making an account (I think you are the person I asked that). The above is the standard Wikipedia welcome. It has good links. Another good resource is Wikipedia:WikiProject Mathematics. On its talk page the math community gathers.

Welcome to wikipedia! Thanks for your recent math edits, although please note that they come awfully close to violating certain wikipedia rules, the rules prohibiting original research. As you add book references, please also include the ISBN number. The manual of style mentioned above encourages the use of a template for book citations. linas 14:51, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)

ISBN

Hi Andrei. I have one small remark. It is good to not put a colon after ISBN. Compare:

ISBN: 1584883553

and

ISBN 1584883553.

Thanks a lot for your detailed comments and remarks on my math editing. I will follow them in future.

I have one question about ISBN. I looked at your corrections on the Differential equations of mathematical physics page. The ISBN links are now okay. However, when I tried to see how you did it and clicked edit this page, I could not see any changes. Do I have to use square brackets as it is normal for making links?

To see what changed on a page, you can click on the edit history and then compare two versions of an article (for example, by clicking on "last"). To make the ISBN a link, I just removed the colon (the sign ":") after it, so instead of ISBN: I had just ISBN. Thus, ISBN:123 becomes ISBN 123. Oleg Alexandrov 03:07, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Dear RandomProcess, what you are missing is that the references provided are made to fundamental handbooks (not articles) and are to the point. They are the most recent, extensive and reliable sources of information on mathematical equations and their solutions. This is what Wikipedia all about, isn't it? The links provided are also to the point. It would be to everyone's benefit if you could suggest similar or better references/links. Alexei Zhurov 06:23, 4 Apr 2006 (BST).
