Table updates[edit]

The tables were revised and updated on 20-09-2009 and simplified to only show single and double 'heavy' and 'light' rails. The previously-available consolidation tables also included 'combined' icons and these will become a separate set of tables shortly. --AlisonW (talk) 18:33, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Looking great, Alison, many thanks! Note one mistake, though: In the examples table, under "tv", you have file:BSicon_vSTR.svg (copied from the line above it?), instead of file:BSicon_tvSTR.svg.Tuvalkin (talk) 17:59, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ta. Turned out I'd copied and forgot to change two icons; since sorted. Will be getting started on the 'complex' multi-type icons soon. --AlisonW (talk) 00:09, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed another error, sorry: "file:BSicon_TEST.svg" doesnt belong among “good” icons, does it? Tuvalkin (talk) 16:57, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
One more suggestion: Ditch the xp preffix from the colums, and add it as yet another type of station. It is used in very few icons, and makes sense only about stations and stops. (Just my 2 c€.) Tuvalkin (talk) 23:03, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, this makes sense. Will do so on next refresh (soon!) --AlisonW (talk) 00:35, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

BROAD as a type of KRZ[edit]

Icon uBROADo seems to be synonym of a putative uKRZoy, at least considering that uKRZoy exists at all. Tuvalkin (talk) 23:06, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, you said above «stick to Wikipedia talk:Route diagram template/Catalog of pictograms». Okay, I'll take this there. Tuvalkin (talk) 23:07, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Icon suggestion[edit]

Alison, where is the proper place to RFC about a new icon? I wanna illustrate this particular mess, a RR bridge over a road bridge over a road. Tuvalkin (talk) 23:03, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Category 'k' junctions[edit]

Hi Alison, all branching icons with a 'k' prefix have a new and consistent naming convention. You might consider changing them on your user page. They can be found here. Wiebevl (talk) 19:27, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the info. Will review at next index refresh. --AlisonW (talk) 00:35, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Parking and Park and Ride icons[edit]

Parking
Park and Ride (L)
Park and Ride (R)
Park and Ride (not BS icon)

I've created File:BSicon_PARKING.svg (Parking, e.g. for use at Parkway stations), File:BSicon_PANDRl.svg (Park and Ride, bus facing left), File:BSicon_PANDRr.svg (facing right), and File:Park and Ride.svg (not really a rail icon but can be useful in the text using {{Park and Ride}}, I am not sure if it is a good idea to add this to {{rail-interchange}} as it is not the standard size for BS icons). The P+R icons are almost illegible at standard size, but may be worth adding for completeness; "Parking" I think definitely useful although its exact appearance has been changed a couple of times (similarly I have a "No parking" icon, but I don't know how useful this is, perhaps only where it might be a surprise that there is no parking). These have been made primarily for the Template:Cambridgeshire Guided Busway RDT but may be useful elsewhere, hence them being made to fit the usual size constraints etc.

I appreciate the intent, but route icons are all displayed at 20px and I don't see that these will work in that circumstance, although they might be useful in infoboxes in articles. I've amended the display alongside to show the 20px size. I've also noted the discussions at Template talk:Cambridgeshire Guided Busway RDT#Park and Ride and will see how it progresses there. --AlisonW (talk) 00:32, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
They are not at 20px at least for me, they are at 32px for the whole box, but with hub overlays etc it is smaller, i.e. basically you get a third of it, which is hard to squash something into. At 32px it looks legible to me, indeed rather nice, but at 20px it is awful.
Is that what you meant? As we have tried hard to make them conform, indeed it would be great to have a little documentation to say how to make them conform for size etc since with an SVG I can nominally make them any size and it will scale it, indeed I am coming round to the idea of making the nominal size a prime number so that at any smaller size a point will not fall on a boundary, since it is not divisible to an integer.
I totally agree these are unusable at this small size, but I wanted you to be aware they are there, for completeness. I didn't add them without thought, and if I will try my best to make them legible, with little hope of success since it's just too much to put in one icon. It is a well-meaning struggle.

Actually it's still possible to use the P+R icon as the BSicon in the route-map. But as you see in my demostration, it looks not that nice, I would say. Still the trick here is to make the icon in 2 by 1 scale and then use it in the BS row template and apply the {{{PX#}}} parameter to the corresponding icon grid (40px, twice of the default width 20px). But that means you can't overlay other conventional square BSicon over it, otherwise it will lengthen the height of row and thus the icons of the next row cannot connect. -- Sameboat - 同舟 (talk) 13:14, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

/* Colour scheme */[edit]

In the first item of the list "Other features", icon ELEV should be changed with hSTR. Bye --Ellegimark (talk) 14:22, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

BST, KBST, KDST[edit]

These tables lack the operational depot category BST, its terminal versions KBSTa and KBSTe, and the KDSTa, KDSTe aliases for normal terminal depots. Also, do you have a table with half-width icons somewhere? --Rontombontom (talk) 12:41, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

BSicon utKACC3a/utACC3+1[edit]

It made this icon   (utKACC3a)  (utACC3+1)

  • Main Description:Stations going in diagonal line with disabled access
