Notability[edit]

Hi Alex, please don't forget to find some suitable references to prove notability for the articles you are creating. You're off to a great start, but failing in proving notability, I fear your work will be for naught. Let me know if you have any questions. Best, ROBERTMFROMLI | TK/CN 17:43, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oh ok! Quick question for you: Will a few references and quotes from big music magazines/websites be sufficient to prove notability? Thanks!
Hi Alex, I hope you don't mind, but I have taken the liberty to indent your msg above. You can simply add a colon for each level of indent you desire, that way conversations can flow more thread-like. Now... on to your question. Depending on the content of the cites/sources - and how they are used, then yes. Inotherwords, in this case, you'd have to find something to tie use of the source to the article, such as "Band X gained prominence by playing at... to x number of people"(citation) - and the citation would have to have pointed out such a fact. There are other criteria for how, where and why a citation can be used, and how it applies to notability. The first starting points I would read up on are reliable sources and notability. In the notability one, dig into how it applies to bands/albums.
If you've got specific questions about sources or how they can be included, please feel free to make a list (here, or elsewhere in your personal userspace) and how you wish to integrate them, and I will be happy to help you with them. Without knowing what direction you intend to go in using such sources though, I'm not sure what direction to point you in.
Anyway, once we've gotten this resolved, I'll go in and remove the tag so the articles dont get posted on articles for deletion. Don't worry, you've got time before you need to worry about that. Even after they are posted there, you've got a certain time frame to correct noted issues before the deletion review is complete. Best, ROBERTMFROMLI | TK/CN 23:32, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You may find this helpful, as it directly pertains to notability for music related topics. If you have any questions about it, let me know. Best, ROBERTMFROMLI | TK/CN 23:38, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removing AfD template[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Strikeforce Challengers: Bowling vs. Voelker. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. This is an automated message from a bot about this edit, where you removed the deletion template from an article before the deletion discussion was complete. If this message is in error, please report it. Snotbot  t • c »  21:12, 22 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Jaill Subpop.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Jaill Subpop.jpg, which you've sourced to http://www.subpop.com/artists/jaill. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:28, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article 12:34 (Needles//Pins album) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NALBUM one single review is not enough to prove notability

Album style guide[edit]

Please see WP:MOSALBUM, the album style guide or maybe another article to model your pages to. 1984 (Van Halen album)) is one I brought to "good article" status.

"Band members" should be "Personnel" and External links should always go below References. Thanks --Jennica / talk 07:08, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
