Fair use rationale for File:Jan II of Opole.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Jan II of Opole.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 20:04, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

Copyright problem: Marie Elisabeth of Valois

Hello. On 29 March 2011, an IP contributor tagged this article as a direct translation of the non-free source [1]. He or she should have notified you, but may not have been familiar enough to find that the content entered with your series of edits in late 2010. I do not speak French fluently enough to address this one and will be passing it to another administrator, but I wanted to draw your attention to it. Below I will place the necessary template that provides all the information you need to verify license, if you did translate directly, or to dispute the assertion if you feel you did not. If you did translate directly, please be aware that we cannot do this with copyrighted text, as the right to prepare translations is reserved to the copyright holder under the United States law that guides us. Content must be written in your own words, except for brief, clearly marked quotations. (See Wikipedia:Copy-paste.) Thank you. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:13, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

Translating from other language Wikipedias

Hi. After leaving the note, I looked at your recent contributions, and I'm afraid I see a definite copyright issue with Archduke Maximilian Ernest of Austria. This is a direct translation of the article on German Wikipedia (as it was published there, prior to its publication here: [2]). You are very welcome to translate content from one Wikipedia project to another, but you must provide attribution for that content. Material on Wikipedia is not public domain; copyright belongs to the editors who initially wrote those articles. I'm afraid that translating them without attribution is a violation of their license and hence their copyright.

Directions for providing attribution when you translate can be found at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. I've provided the attribution in this case. If there are other articles into which you have copied or translated content, please clarify the attribution of those. If you need assistance, let me know, and I'll be happy to try to help you. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:26, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Alfonso de Portago.jpg

If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
