Hello, Voceditenore!

I decided to post my article addition to the Ornamentation-Music page. My section is titled "Ornamentation in Opera arias." I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you for taking the time to look at my work. Sincerely, Aimeecm

Hello, Voceditenore!

My intent is to focus specifically on the opera aria. I was putting in more information than I will probably use because I wanted to figure out how to best set up the article. Thank you for your advice! I would love to know how to un-redirect the article redirect from the Rigoletto page. Would you kindly explain how I can do that?

I have been focusing just on the ornamentation singers use in the final cadenza of the aria, but I am wondering if that will be enough information for this project. I have been unsure of where I would put it: Rigoletto? Ornamentation? Opera? I think your idea of adding an "ornamentation in opera arias" section to the Ornament (music) page will be my best option.

Thank you again for your input!! Sincerely, Aimeecm

Hi Aimeecm, and welcome to Wikipedia! I've written some advice for past students in your class at Longy School of Music which you might find helpful. You'll find it here. Ornamentation in opera arias[edit]

Hi Aimee, I had a peek at your sandbox. It's looking good. As you probably know, Wikipedia already has an overview article on the subject—Ornament (music). You might want to consider adding a new section to that which focuses specifically on ornamentation in opera arias, using "Caro nome" as an example. Alternatively, if you think there's enough for a stand-alone article on the subject, I'd recommend a title like Ornamentation (opera arias) which gives scope for expansion by you or future editors to look at other examples besides "Caro nome". Alternatively, you could write an article on the aria itself. Here's an example of quite a good one like that "Madamina, il catalogo è questo". "Caro nome" is currently a redirect page to Rigoletto, but I can show you how to un-redirect it and use it for your article, if you decide to go that route.
