Karachi[edit]

The provisional result is the only one carried out by an official organization. The dispute and politics behind it is already in the article and already appear to be sourced. Alishernavoi (talk) 20:37, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Alishernavoi: If it is in the article then it should be reflected in the lead according to MOS:LEAD. Ahmedmahdi1 (talk) 20:39, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
No actually it says it should summarize the most important points. You’re not even offering a reliable source. Just an Industrialists opinion piece. And his random estimate is not a most important point. It clearly says to be clearly sourced, ie reliable. The source you gave is not a reliable source bc it is not scholarly. It’s an opinion piece.Alishernavoi (talk) 20:45, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Alishernavoi: Population estimate is widely disputed so it is very important probably the hotest topic in Karachi for last couple of years. Second it is not in the opinion section of The Express Tribune website. You started this discussion but you don't want to wait and find a consensus but just keep edit warring with me. Ahmedmahdi1 (talk) 20:49, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Because it’s in dispute, I added that after the provisional estimate. And the article you cited is an opinion piece. The article barely even mentioned population - it wasn’t a major point. And you can see it is clearly discussed at considerable length later in the article. So your concerns are already addressed it seems. What other issue is there? If there’d a problem still then Let’s fugure out a solution together bc this site is generally too full of anger.Alishernavoi (talk) 20:58, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Alishernavoi: You don't have to add this sentence ( a figure immediately disputed by various factions as a severe underestimate) or add the word provisional in the lead. Merged 2nd and 3rd paragraph in the lead and add my sentence about independent estimate for 23 million after the last line of 4th paragraph and we are on our way. Do you agree? You can do these changes or I can if we agree. If you have a better reliable independent source about Karachi population even better. Ahmedmahdi1 (talk) 21:07, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I don’t think it makes sense at the very end bc it seems disjointed. Let me make a tweak and you can see Alishernavoi (talk) 21:14, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Alishernavoi: If you have a better reliable independent source about Karachi population even better then please use that. I just want an independent estimate in the lead because it is a very controversial topic. Thanks Ahmedmahdi1 (talk) 21:16, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I used your for now Alishernavoi (talk) 21:22, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
