Do you know what is the title of this wikipedia article? Its called Kharga Oasis. Its refers to the Oasis of Kharga...and not a mudbrick settlement at Kharga.

  • The image you uploaded as the header is wrong: it is Not an oasis as even Charlie Philips says on the flickrlink. This is just a mudbrick settlement at Kharga Oasis and the picture doesn't even show 1 palm tree and its a low resolution photo at only 640 X 468 pixels here
  • The original Image which I uploaded with the flickr owner's permission is that of the Kharga Oasis and shows the Temple of Hibis--built by king Psamtik II--which is located here. You can see hundreds of palm trees which proves that this is the oasis of Kharga...and what's more the image resolution/quality is very high at 3648 X 2736 pixels. So, I kept your image in the wikipedia article on Kharga Oasis but moved it lower because it shows just a mudbrick settlement at Kharga Oasis--and Not the Oasis itself. I moved the original high resolution picture to the top so that others can see the picture of the oasis itself. Thank You, --Leoboudv (talk) 08:35, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thank You. Now wikipedia's article here can have a picture of the Kharga Oasis and a human settlement at the same Oasis too. That is good for everyone. Best Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 22:49, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Images with non-free rationale use claims are Not allowed at Wikicommons. They are allowed only at wikipedia. For your picture Assiut university may own the logo; so its not copyright free and Cannot be uploaded at Wikicommons, only at wikipedia--with a fair use rationale. This is a non-free use image which was uploaded at wikipedia by Richard Arthur Norton years ago here with a fair use rationale for pharaoh Setnakhte. It Cannot be moved to Wikicommons because it is not copyright free--Al Ahram owns the copyright.

To upload an image file at wikipedia, click on "upload file" under 'toolbox' at the left. Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 07:42, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Fayoum.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 02:10, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Innocence of Muslims film trailer[edit]

Hi, I'm writing because you are listed in Category:Translators ar-en. It was recently pointed out at Talk:Innocence of Muslims#ARABIC Wikipedia version that the English Wikipedia article on the deliberately inflammatory film trailer Innocence of Muslims contains very much more detailed information about the deliberate deceit on the part of the filmmakers to try to obscure their identity and the nature of the trailers which has not yet been added to the Arabic version at ar:براءة_المسلمين which is getting about 8,000 page views per day presently. Would you please consider adding some of the details which might help Arabic readers understand some of the missing details of the trailers? Thank you for your consideration. —Cupco 22:01, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Shubra el kheima.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Shubra el kheima.png, which you've sourced to http://theponty.tumblr.com/post/7147867173. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Dianna (talk) 02:58, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Ahmadpontymageed

First, how do I join your Liberalism Task Force? I think your contributions are important and I would like to participate.

Second, I would like draw your attention to the following point: before yesterday, Wikipedia lacked an article about the liberal proposition of separating money and state.

Free banking, Currency competition, and Legal tender all have articles. There are even redundant articles about complemetary currencies (one two three four).

As you know, non-involvement of the government in monetary affairs implies free banking but is not implied by it. Free banking is a hyponym of money/state separation: it can exist in an environment when a (commodity/paper) government currency competes with private currencies. As the government would levy taxes in its own currency, it would benefit from an undue monopolistic advantage despite the free banking environment. Hayek and Rothbard clearly advocated total abolition of government control over monetary affairs, rather than mere abolition of legal tender laws.

Furthermore, the debt crisis, and recent headlines about Bitcoin and the Liberty Dollar, have renewed the proposition. The reference to church/state separation was initially made by Hayek (to my knowledge) but has been repeated recently (I have repeatedly read it recently, and I'm still looking for more references).

Anyhow, I have taken the initiative of creating such an article.

I would very much appreciate your contribution to help me source and expand the article. This would be especially useful as it seems the requirements in that regard are much more stringent if one doesn't describe the Krugman/Bernanke precepts.

Thank you !

The article Ahmed Mekky (actor) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 14:07, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
