Welcome!

Hello Activision45, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!

Sources for South Park[edit]

Hello, good work on South Park, and thanks for the contribution. However, you did not provide any references or sources in the article. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and as you might be aware there is currently a push to encourage editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. Can you list in the article any websites, books, or other sources that will allow people to verify the content in South Park? You can simply add links, or see Citation templates for different citation methods. Thanks!

Hi Activision,

Add messages to the user's talkpage, not the userpage itself. Thanks! - Mailer Diablo 03:36, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I second that, as Nixer has deleted the warnings from his userpage already. Please do try again. ProhibitOnions 01:38, 13 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Fun, please do not adjust my stress level tho :) --Cool CatTalk|@ 03:54, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry[edit]

Sorry for tampering with your mood meter, I was just messing with it and did not mean to save it. I had no clue that i saved it.

Im terribly sorry

--Activision45 03:57, 11 December 2005 (UTC)Activision45[reply]

No biggie, feel free to copy the structure to your userspace, honest mistakes are fine although some people may go balistic if people touch their stress meter (I am not one) :) --Cool CatTalk|@ 04:02, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Q97.2[edit]

Last night you changed this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Q97.2FM back to its original edit (which was a mocking spoof). Why did you do this? Leave it the way it was up until a few days ago. Have you READ what you changed it back to ?!

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for your support. I still need more support cause it seems to be hard way Maltesedog 07:46, 11 December 2005 (UTC) 07:45, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Your RfA[edit]

I strongly suggest you withdraw your RfA nomination and remove it from the listing. Otherwise it is in danger of becoming a "pile-on", where dozens of Wikipedians vote against you, which is not productive to Wikipedia. Otherwise, welcome to Wikipedia! Please continue editing articles and learning how Wikipedia works. You might reconsider applying for adminship after about three months. — JIP | Talk 10:39, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Problems[edit]

Im seeming to have some problems. If i change the mood meter in my user page. It seems to change yours. Is there a way i can change that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Activision45 (talkcontribs)

Hey, thank you for your comment, I moved them to the talk page and posted a response, feel free to respond :) --Cool CatTalk|@ 23:30, 17 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Userboxes[edit]

Hi, in the week that I have been here, you have helped me alot! I was wondering somthing. You have your user boxes in a neat vertical row. I was wondering, how do you put your users boxes in that one big box?

Thanks

--Activision45 05:29, 18 December 2005 (UTC)Activision45[reply]

Oh it is through using tables. I'll add one to your userpage to organise it a bit. If you dont like it you can revert :) --Cool CatTalk|@ 05:43, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. Thank you for the barnstar! :) --Cool CatTalk|@ 05:50, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks![edit]

Hi Activision45. Thanks for your support on my recent RFA. The request was successful, with a final tally of 33/0/0. I'm delighted that you decided to support it and I hope that I can live up to your expectations. Leithp (talk) 10:00, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Defcon[edit]

Hi, when you changed the vandalism level, you forgot to sign. My name is still there. Izehar (talk) 22:26, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

What did you just do, I didn't mean revert it to my version, I'm sorry if you though that. I meant, whenever you set it to a different level, please sign it. All CVU members can set it. Izehar (talk) 22:48, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, never mind. Level 5 probably is the most appropriate now - I'm on RC patrol now and there is close to zero vandalism. It's probably due to that "sorry, we can't process your request" message (I'm getting that all the time as well). Unhelpful living conditions for vandals. Izehar (talk) 22:54, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

20 December 2005[edit]

Please stop adding nonsense to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you were just trying to experiment, then use the sandbox instead. Thank you. -- 23:01, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

Don't create templates for your personal use in the Template: namespace. You could create a template in your userspace at User:Activision45/Sorry and then include it with {{User:Activision45/Sorry}}. -- Curps 23:48, 20 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

A call for help[edit]

Hi, Activision. This might be a bit random, but I need some help with the following two pages: Gutslice and Cut Yourself. One is a band that is non-notable by WP:Music, (which only started in June of this year!) and the other is a recording produced by them. A member of the band has deleted my Speedy Delete notice about 40 times now on both pages now. It's really getting too much. I've notified an administrator who seemed to be on duty, but I need some help in reverting his deletes until something is done. It's sort of getting under my skin. Iinag 19:17, 21 December 2005.

CAoW[edit]

Since you are listed as a Roman Catholic, I figured I'd send you this. Wikipedia:Catholic Alliance of wikipedia has been nominated for Deletion. Please vote to keep this organization on wikipedia. --Shanedidona 01:27, 25 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Help[edit]

Hey,

you have helped me before and I was wondering if you could help me out here. I wanted to start a page that would be an anti vandalism page. (Like the Counter-Vandalism Unit). I started a page that explained what it was and when the page would be operative. An admin deleted it and told me to put in on the village pump. I couldnt find a place in the village pump to place my page construction. Could you help me.

(if what i said is confusing, then tell me and I will try to make it easier, because I think i didnt explain this clearly enough)

Thanks

Beware that even the best proposals are litteraly "treated like shit".
The semi-protection when I proposed it received no sympathy and I was scorned for it, it was later implimented once we had CNN coverage. I am telling you this to be prepared for "wierd comments".
You will be accused of being a "millitary dictator" for example. People will also use Wikipedia:Counter Vandalism Unit as another example "why this is a bad idea". ANd people will use it as an excuse to oppose RfAs etc. Some will call it a cabal... Endless nonsense yes.
In addition it will continiously cause you stress. Wikipedia:Counter Vandalism Unit only achived to stress me (aside form throtteling vandalism down but no one cares about that).
For example if you have an IRC channel with newly-imposed restrictions
  • People complain about the restrictions
  • Cause you hours of work to find a way to lift the restrictions and still make the channel "secure".
  • Asking people to register their nicks is unnaceptable for example.
  • Then once restrictions are gone the person complaining does not EVEN use the channel ONCE or EVEN join the channel.
This is how it will go. I am telling you this in advance so you know whats waiting you.

If you are willing to take all that do this: Try creating the page on User:Activision45/proposal (or any name you choose under your userspace).
I'll be able to "guide" you better once I see whay kind of a proposal this is :).

Proposal[edit]

Ok, thanks for the heads up. I have been gone for awhile, but I have managed to write up the Anti VAndalism Proposal. User:Activision45/proposal

Tell me what I should add, take away. Or what I should do next. Im not to talented at wikipedia still. So if your willing to help me, I would very much appreciate it. If your too busy to help me, then tell me, I understand. :)

Thanks

I just received surgery and will be able to assist you in a few days... --Cool CatTalk|@ 16:01, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A spesific channels just for admin request is something we lack as generaly an RC patroler is an admin and generaly an extensive discussion is unnecesary (in my view).

We should have a discussion only channel.

We have currently 3 channels the bots spit their output to. #wikipedia-en-vandalism #wikipedia-en-vandalism2 and #wikipedia-en-newusers

Basicaly the outpit is imposible to follow in a single channel. :)

I hope this answers your concerns. Feel free to raise any concerns on my talk page.

Channels[edit]

I have been quite busy myself and have just now gotten a chance to log onto wikipedia. I am pretty clueless with this channel thing, which means maybe im not experienced enough to even lift this off the ground. Your thoughts?

Thanks

Hmmm.... Why not propose this on cvu talk. I alone dont matter :) --Cool CatTalk|@ 01:24, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your VandalProof Application[edit]

Dear Activision45,

Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that at this time you do not meet the minimum requirement of 250 edits to mainspace articles (see under main here). Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. --frothT 21:03, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:CVU status[edit]

The Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit project is under consideration to be moved to {{inactive}} and/or {{historical}} status. Another proposal is to delete or redirect the project. You have been identified as a project member and your input as to this matter would be welcomed at WT:CVU#Inactive.3F and at the deletion debate. Thank you! Greetings Recent Changes Patrollers!

This is a one-time-only message to inform you about technical proposals related to Recent Changes Patrol in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:

  2. Editor-focused central editing dashboard
  3. "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
  4. Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
  5. Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list

Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.
