Speedy deletion of Gayle Day

A tag has been placed on Gayle Day requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. I've removed the CSD notice on this article, as the fact that the subject coordinated a major music festival is a claim of notability. However, if reliable sources (news articles and such) aren't forthcoming, someone might nominate the article for deletion via the WP:AFD process. I've added the hang-on tag. What is the proper method for introducing an article as a stub? I am not intending to post articles as advertising, I am trying to create entries that document notable feminist events in the world of art and music, which by their very nature get less press than they might otherwise and are therefore harder to document. Bad Girrls Studios for instance was a well known art space in Boston in the late 90s - even now a search engine will provide numerous references to events held there. The quality of these references may not meet WP standards, but the subject certainly should be considered notable. Suggestions for improving the quality of the articles are welcome; but I would request that the tag be changed from db-spam to ref-improve. Thank you.
