January 2021[edit]

Hello, I'm Oshwah. I noticed that in this edit to Uppsala, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 05:51, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Uppsala, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Wikipedia's Manual of Style says "When a foreign name has a set English pronunciation (or pronunciations), include both the English and foreign-language pronunciations": this is the relevant section. Regards, --bonadea contributions talk 08:12, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but the City of Uppsala has not a set English pronunciation, only Swedish. --85.76.108.189 (talk) 11:54, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
There are several sources supporting a couple of different English-language pronunciations. If you disagree with the sources or have other reliable sources supporting your claim, start a discussion at Talk:Uppsala. Don't simply revert back to your preferred version, as that constitutes edit warring. Thanks! --bonadea contributions talk 12:21, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
