File permission problem with File:Republic Reply Mauzan.pdf[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Republic Reply Mauzan.pdf. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. SuperMarioMan 02:06, 14 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I saw File:Martin Armstrong.jpg and noticed you fudged the authorship of the photo — the author of the photo is probably not the person in the photo because usually the author is behind the camera. Please correct the author field. Your "provided upon request" evidence of license is unacceptable. The field where you put that response was in fact the request for proof of license. Consider this to be a second request. Please go ahead and correct these two problems. Thanks. JFHJr () 15:44, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please use edit summaries[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed your recent edit to Martin A. Armstrong does not have an edit summary. Please provide one before saving your changes to an article, as the summaries are quite helpful to people browsing an article's history. Thanks! JFHJr () 16:40, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please use sources that actually support the content you add[edit]

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to Martin A. Armstrong. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. JFHJr () 02:47, 20 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to Martin A. Armstrong. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. JFHJr () 02:49, 20 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings. I've noticed that you are a new account with the single purpose of editing Martin A. Armstrong. I've also noticed your extremely tendentious edits such as this one, wholly unsupported by any reliable source. I've also noticed the rather absurd level of detail and redundancy that you've contributed there. Finally, there are the several images you've uploaded from Armstrong's personal websites, indicating you have confused Wikipedia with Wikisource, which is an actual host of source texts. You've uploaded these images with apparent authority of the image owner, and it seems you've gone so far as to attempt OTRS response. All of these things I've pointed out indicate that you might actually be the subject, a closely related person, or otherwise someone with a conflict of interest as to the subject. Please consider refraining from editing the article until you can cite sources that actually support your contentions. Please use edit summaries. And if you have the authority to donate the images you have uploaded in the name of Martin Armstrong, you should disclose your conflict of interest and refrain from editing the article at all. Unsourced and unreliably sourced material at Martin A. Armstrong[edit]

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Martin A. Armstrong. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. JFHJr () 21:24, 21 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not insert fringe or undue weight content into articles, as you did to Martin A. Armstrong. An article should not give undue weight to any aspects of the subject but should strive to treat each aspect with a weight appropriate to its significance to the subject. Please use the article's talk page to discuss the material and its appropriate weight within the article. Thank you. JFHJr () 21:24, 21 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mr. Martin Armstrong . . .[edit]

I was just wondering . . . have you ever read WP:COI? How about WP:SPA? Or how about WP:AUTO? Or how about WP:OWN? You're obviously not here to help build an encyclopedia. This being the case, I wonder why you feel so self-righteous about what you're doing, when you are so obviously in the wrong. Now that there are so many eyes on the article that you erroneously believe belongs to you, it looks like your days editing there are coming to a rapid end. Care to comment? Qworty (talk) 02:24, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've responded to your message on my talk page. I hope we can continue any substantive conversations you care to have at the Martin A. Armstrong talk page and/or at WP:BLPN; currently discussions on several relevant issues are ongoing. I know you've been referred to several Wikipedia guidelines and policies in the course of your very short editing history here. I sympathize if you feel like you've had alphabet soup thrown your way, but these principles are mandatory especially when it comes living persons' biographies. If you can break down, issue by issue, each of the additions or changes you'd like to see, the Martin A. Armstrong talk page would be best. The same goes in case you take issue with any of the edit summary I or another editor might have provided when making a change to the article. Right now, the best forum might be WP:BLPN. I suggest you propose edits and/or ask for better justification with specific questions in order to avoid making edits that could appear disruptive. See you at talk or the BLPN? JFHJr () 02:39, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It seems, that you as self-proclaimed "chief editor" in this case, assess "...Armstrong's daughter, Victoria, paid her father visits in prison most Wednesdays.." as pretty relevant stuff. I think it is more your desire or strategy as wannabe editor in a complex case like this to highlight the irrelevant and suppress the important facts. Instead of hiding by your obscure interpretation of what should be put here or it would may be make sense for you to spend a few minutes on the facts in this case. But I understand you are just not capable to do so. But may be you only will realize what you do here to this man with your biased editing when a judge throws YOU in jail for civil contempt realizing that there is nothing you can do but to plea guilty to something that you finally reach a point to be heard by a judge. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77TellTheTruth88 (talkcontribs)

Dear user 77TellTheTruth88: Editor JFHJr has not proclaimed himself/herself to be "chief editor." Neither has anyone else. And his edits are not "biased." Look, we understand that you're upset. But the Wikipedia article on Martin Armstrong is not the proper place for you to vent your feelings about how you feel he has been treated. The proper role for you and me as Wikipedia editors is to look for reliable, previously published third party sources and to report what THEY say about the subject of the article. Please stop[edit]

Please stop adding unreferenced or poorly referenced biographical content, especially if controversial, to articles or any other Wikipedia page, as you did at Martin A. Armstrong. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

To be clear, you have inserted needless repetition, WP:UNDUE detail, and unfounded WP:FRINGE point of view terms such as "alleged" for a crime to which the subject pleaded guilty. You've done this over and over again. Your edits at the article are entirely contrary to valid sources and Wikipedia guidelines. Please stop. JFHJr () 21:05, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Armstrong guilty plea.pdf requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F10 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file that is not an image, sound file or video clip (e.g. a Word document or PDF file) that has no encyclopedic use.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
