Information icon Hello, I'm C.Fred. I noticed that you made a comment on the page List of longest-running United States television series that didn't seem very civil, so it has been removed. Wikipedia is built on collaboration, so it's one of our core principles to interact with one another in a polite and respectful manner. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 12:36, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did with this edit to Kiss the Rain. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 04:15, 19 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Kiss the Rain shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 04:27, 19 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

About that comment edited here by a now-blocked user[edit]

In any discussion, including messages left here on "your" talk page, it is important to leave the messages intact to preserve context. When you edit another user's comments, as you did here, the conversation is distorted. Do not put words in other users' mouths or change their comments. It is disruptive and, depending on the change, can be viewed as a personal attack. —C.Fred (talk) 13:56, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

User was a sockpuppet and is now blocked. that's why I removed what he wrote.--75.66.124.118 (talk) 00:37, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You didn't remove anything; you added text. —C.Fred (talk) 03:00, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I did? I think he added text as seen here (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:75.66.124.118&diff=869088276&oldid=869001405) doesn't he get a warning?--75.66.124.118 (talk) 07:56, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The only user who needs warned is the one who added words into another user's comments—and they have already been warned. —C.Fred (talk) 14:45, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I think I know what happened. I thought he added in that comment when in fact he removed it, so I added it back thinking I removed it. You thought I added in the comment when in reality it was me reverting the comment back to the original text thinking I had removed something he had added which you thought I added.--75.66.124.118 (talk) 17:19, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
And I chased it back to the original comment [1], and it was there. Sorry for the mix-up. Let's just blame the now-blocked sockpuppet for causing this trouble, eh? :) —C.Fred (talk) 17:31, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I took the liberty of changing the thread heading so it doesn't look as ominous to people who skim the table of contents. —C.Fred (talk) 17:32, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

HAHA, It's ok. I thought I was removing it this whole time. He got us both.--75.66.124.118 (talk) 17:35, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock Request[edit]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

75.66.124.118 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I was wrongfully blocked by User:El C, I don't have a long term history of edit warring not sure why he claimed that?? I also saw on his talk page how User:Vitreology Brought up that he picks sides. Less than 1 hour after he blocked me. I think my block was 100% PUNITIVE and I should be unblocked.--75.66.124.118 (talk) 4:56 am, Yesterday (UTC−4)

Accept reason:

See this diff. Note I do not agree it was a punitive block. There was disruption, the admin was not involved nor do they have any history of picking sides. The block is lifted early because it is believed the disruption has now subsided, N.J.A. | talk 12:32, 21 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Any IP that not only genre wars, but also mentions genre warring itself, is at best highly suspicious. El_C 09:03, 20 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, if any admin reviewing this feels I was in error here, they are free to unblock with immediate effect and do not need to consult me further in any way. El_C 09:22, 20 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Can you explain how your reverts to the 5/4 Song article were not disruptive? If unblocked or your block is reduced, would you agree to take to talk pages first, before reverting? N.J.A. | talk 14:16, 20 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Because Indie Rock and Alternative Rock are used interchangeably, like College Rock is. It wouldn't have any effect on the people viewing the article. I was done fighting with the guy. He loves to fight about music with people on Wikipedia. I know I would get in trouble if I went any further, so I contacted an Admin.--75.66.124.118 (talk) 20:21, 20 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Although I’m not convinced that everyone would agree that the two genres are interchangeable, and sources would assist your argument, as you say you are done arguing I see no reason to continue with this week long block. I have therefore lifted it, though do know any further edit warring may lead to an immediate block without further warning. Thanks, N.J.A. | talk 12:26, 21 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
