Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Steven Wright has been reverted.
Your edit here to Steven Wright was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCntfNN1LWEo0107SzlmCUjA) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. XLinkBot needs polish[edit]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Ron Harris (photographer). Wikipedia is not a collection of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links may include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Jim1138 (talk) 17:30, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Elaine May. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Condensed milk into Gail Borden. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 21:56, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The source of some of the edits of Gail Borden were based on some of Condensed milk, but it was not a direct copy and references were checked, and additional material was included, because Gail Borden's history was more complete at Condensed milk.69.181.23.220 (talk) 23:13, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

The block notice does not contain a specific reason or a specific edit why an administrator has blocked this ip address from editing. XLinkBot cannot distinguish WP:RS

"adding inappropriate external links after being warned"

does not cite any edits that User:Swarm or User:Jessicapierce complain about. Elaine May - Topic is a youtube/Google channel managed by youtube and the content rights holders, as are all the "Topic" channels, these are not user channels, also XLinkBot cannot distinguish other WP:RS at youtube like CNN. These edits conform to the external links guideline.

"Links should be evaluated for inclusion with due care on a case-by-case basis."

Decline reason:

Taking a look at just your most recent article edit, I see you linked to legacy.com, which is arguably appropriate. You provided two links to youtube.com, which were almost certainly violating copyright and are expressly discouraged by WP:EL. And you linked to ftc.gov; the article you linked to would not generally be appropriate in the External links section, but may be used to provide a citation elsewhere in the article. As such, I find your block legitimate and decline your unblock request. Yamla (talk) 21:36, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. @Sjö: I am not "adding Donnybrook fair", only clarifying Donnybrook as used by native English speakers for historical reasons. Perhaps this is more concise:

69.181.23.220 (talk) 12:23, 28 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I guess you didn't see it. It's in the second line under Ireland. The disambiguation page should contain the text necessary to distinguish between similar items. Any clarification of the term Donnybrook belongs in Donnybrook Fair (where I see that it's missing), not at the disamb page.Sjö (talk) 12:30, 28 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Donnybrook. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Another editor (User:Sjö above) has explained why the edit is not appropriate. Note, however, that I have expanded the lead at Donnybrook Fair (disambiguation) to include material from Donnybrook Fair about the expression being used as slang. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 12:49, 28 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Sjö: @Shhhnotsoloud: in this unusual case, there are nested disambiguation pages that would probably be better served by putting all Donnybrook Fair and Donnybrook on a single disambiguation page. Donnybrook Fair carries the root meaning.
69.181.23.220 (talk) 12:54, 28 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It's not unusual. "Donnybrook Fair" is a partial title match (WP:PTM) for "Donnybrook" and therefore isn't included in the list of articles at the disambiguation page Donnybrook. A separate disambiguation page for "Donnybrook Fair" is entirely legitimate. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 13:00, 28 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@69.181.23.220: Thank you for the creation of "Draft:Active Measures (2018 film)". Please become a registered User, as there are article creation benefits ... see wp:REGISTER (titled "Wikipedia:Why create an account?"). It also decreases your exposure ... see Wikipedia:OUTING & the possibility of someone else editing on this IP address (potentially ruining your hard fought reputation). See Wikipedia:Your first article.

Being a registered user will also increase your credibility among the editing community, to say nothing of Admins.

If you don't want to become a registered user, would you mind (if can) make your "Active Measures" live (I would become the first author then)? ...Since waiting in "Draft" may not only be long (being an IP user doesn't help) it may not even pass (and the article is already better than many I have seen started). The film is already showing in large city theaters, per a quick Fandango check. It would be beneficial to Readers to have the article live sooner than later. Thank you again. October 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm XLinkBot. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Fahrenheit 11/9 have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links.
Your edit here to Fahrenheit 11/9 was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRQv9xMQ3E0, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opM6YIx3gA8) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. music or video) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline.
Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 19:28, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Copying licensed material requires attribution[edit]

Hi. I see in a recent addition to The Tor Project, Inc you included material from a webpage that is available under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported license. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this legal requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 15:30, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Diannaa: It is not a direct copy but close paraphrase because this is a precise technical description. Thanks for adding additional attribution.
69.181.23.220 (talk) 21:23, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I am aware that it's not an exact copy but it's close enough to have been picked up by a bot as being a potential copyright violation. It's quite a close paraphrase, hence the need to provide attribution. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 22:18, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

November 2018[edit]

Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Gina Barreca. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it.
Your edit here to Gina Barreca was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. That youtube is still an official link of the subject, and per WP:ELMINOFFICIAL we only list one. With your revision we would list two. I do note that I have warned you before with your interpretation of WP:EL, and this is again one case that is at odds with that. You have been warned enough. --Dirk Beetstra T C 11:25, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Operation Infektion. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.
Your edit here to Operation Infektion was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. You have been warned sufficiently above, and I just left you a message yesterday. There was no reasonto revert last edit, the youtube link was totally unneccesary in that edit

This IP has about 6 months of warnings without showing any sign of willing to improve or adapt, and almost seems to seek the conflict instead. I have therefore blocked for the same time. --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:23, 22 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Linking to user-submitted video sites : there is no blanket ban on linking to YouTube Links should be evaluated for inclusion with due care on a case-by-case basis. Links to online videos should also identify additional software necessary for readers to view the content. <removed personal attack> and objects to linking to The New York Times youtube videos about russian assaults on american sovereignty. XLinkBot randomly complains about YouTube links which are not prohibited, especially from revered newspapers. 69.181.23.220 (talk) 09:50, 22 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

That personal attack just lost you the ability to edit this talk page. See WP:UTRS if you want to appeal further, but be aware that you could lose access to that too. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 10:01, 22 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • For the record, I endorse the redaction and rev-deletion of the personal attack from the above message, and had intended to do it myself. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 10:08, 22 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Forrest Shaw[edit]

Hello, 69.181.23.220. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Forrest Shaw".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! Lapablo (talk) 08:00, 5 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
