The article Emi Fontana has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. The article Emi Fontana has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article subject lacks notability. See WP:BIO. Sources generally fail WP:RS and often mention the subject only in passing or not at all. A Google search failed to yield any significant RS sources. Article appears to be a WP:PROMO piece by a WP:SPA.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Ad Orientem (talk) 02:41, 14 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Correction of issues on Emi Fontana[edit]

The following was posted to one of the users who has pointed out several problems on the above mentioned page.

I am a new user, and started my contribution to Wikipedia on a subject I was familiar and comfortable with which had no existing page. Unfortunately, my learning curve here has been a slow one. I have been trying to clear most of the concerns that have put the page up for possible deletion.

The one hurdle I am not certain I can effectively address is how "noteworthy" the subject is. However, that being said the particular profession of this individual (contemporary art curator) lends itself to a somewhat unclear nature, since in the art word they can have great notoriety they are of course not spoken of in the public at large as often as the artist they work with.

With all that said. I am still trying to make sure the page complies with all the guidelines required. Any further suggestions would be very much appreciated.

The article has plenty of references now, and looks quite good. Whether she is actually notable enough for an encyclopaedia article is beyond your control, all you can do is provide references so that others can judge. At the moment, you have more "keeps" than "deletes", but you will just have to see how the AFD pans out.

Some style suggestions that won't affect the notability issue but will improve the appearance (which helps to convince reviewers that you know what you are doing).

  • Roll the url into the title using [url description], so " Official site for the Women in the City project http://www.womeninthecity.org/" becomes "Official site for Women in the City project"
  • Although you have linked names, there is underlinking elsewhere. For example, Los Angeles might have an article
  • Your bolding has gone mad. The only bolding normally should be the first mention of the subject and volume numbers for books and journals. Your refs are littered with non-MoS bolding—I don't think I've ever seen years bolded before

I hope this helps Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:35, 28 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
