G-23 Congress moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, G-23 Congress, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ... discospinster talk 22:30, 28 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

August 2022[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into G-23 Congress. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 04:34, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I did not copied from any page. I created one. I came to know later that the same page existed but it was empty. I did research and filled the information I spent so many man hours, please do not call it “cut and paste”. 50FN1 (talk) 10:59, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The article Palam Village has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NGEO, lacks any sources or references.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Redirect of Ranjit Singh Chautala[edit]

Hi - you moved Ranjit Singh Chautala to Chaudhury Ranjeet Singh with no explanation of the change. In English, the common spelling of this politician is Ranjit Singh or Ranjit Singh Chautala, recent examples: Haryana Assembly, Indian Express, Indian Express, The Tribune. Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 02:20, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - The name Chautala is name of his village not his actual surname or last name. Chaudhary Ranjit Singh's brother and his brother's family uses this name "Chautala" not by Chaudhary Ranjit Singh himself. The News and media are often confused and they also use "Chautala" as his last name but it is a mistake. I have met Chaudhary Ranjit Singh many times and have asked this to him too. I'm attaching his official account usernames where you can see that he doesn't use "Chautala" instead he uses "Chaudhary" or "Ch" as short for Chaudhary. His contact details are mentioned on his Official blue tick facebook page, you can confirm this by contacting him. choudharyranjeetsingh61@gmail.com and 094160 48386.
P.S please upload his latest photo too as I am having some difficulty in it, Thank you
(talk) 05:42, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi - it looks like you have a connection to this politician. It is important to be aware of conflict of interest, in particular please note "you are strongly discouraged from editing affected articles directly" and also the part on disclosure. On names, Wikipedia is guided by the WP:COMMONNAME policy, which basically means we use what is most commonly used in reliable sources, hence in this case why the appropriate title of the article is Ranjit Singh Chautala. If you can point me to an unrestricted photograph (ie no copyright limitations) I'm happy to upload it. Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 21:43, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, As I have said that "I have met Chaudhary Ranjit Singh many time", it doesn't mean that I have some sort of connection with him. He is a politician and he meets hundreds of people like me everyday. I met him in some social events where politicians are chief guests, he doesn't even know my name. I think you are not understanding any of the things I have said. I gave you so many examples about his name and yet you are still arguing and assuming things and telling me that I can't edit this page further, this is not fair at all. I would like to tell you that I have a keen interest in politics and you can check my edits I mostly edit pages related to politics. It will be very helpful of you, if you would change his name so that readers will know the exact information. Please go to those links of Chaudhary Ranjit Singh's official social media handle Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Governement website, he uses "Chaudhary" before his name and doesn't use "Chautala" after his name. Please visit those links, I have already given those links and his mobile number
This facebook URL is from his offical page, can you use that ?

Thank you (talk) 04:40, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi - if you've met him multiple times that is a connection. If you're a member of a political party of which he's been a member of, that is a connection. The connections do not necessarily imply a conflict of interest, but you should make a disclosure (frankly, anybody who is a member of any political party who writes on political figures in their own country should disclose). Self-published sources are not reliable and in many cases cannot be used. WP:COMMONNAME explains how Wikipedia determines the titles of articles; the vast majority of reliable sources refer to him as Ranjit Singh Chautala. The photo you have linked is not copyright free and cannot be used. Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 10:53, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
He is a Power Minister in Haryana, I went to his office for some power related issue at my village and I had to go there many times. How’s does that makes a connection, thousands of people visit ministers for some issue everyday. I asked his office staff about his background so they told me who he is, frankly I was not even aware and there was not much information about him on Wikipedia so that’s why I updated his information.
Are you gonna write “Chaudhary” and remove “Chautala” or not ? (talk) 05:02, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi - you only provided personal, anecdotal information. Wikipedia is based on verifiable, reliable sources. If you can show that the preponderance of reliable sources term him something other than Ranjit Singh Chautala, then we could change the title of the article. If I were to claim that I met him too, can you disprove my claim? You cannot. Which is precisely why Wikipedia is not based on the claims of the editors who build this encyclopedia, but only on reliable sources that can be verified. I don't get it, what you are trying to say. It is really very confusing, I can't understand the problem. You can check this source about the person I'm creating the page about, he is a renown senior journalist of India
https://www.sundayguardianlive.com/user/pankaj-vohra (talk) 08:25, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
A journalist having a lot of articles published is not an indication of that journalist's notability; they are simply doing their job as it is the job of a journalist to publish (or broadcast). A journalist is notable because others have recognised that journalist and written about that journalist in reliable sources. The article that was moved to draft space does not show, using reliable sources, why Pankaj Vohra should be considered notable; again to reiterate, having a lot of articles published or appearing on television as a commentator, is not by itself enough to demonstrate that a person is notable. There must be independent, reliable sources with significant coverage of the person. Please read: WP:NBIO. Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 10:36, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
As per the “itv network” website Mr. Pankaj Vohra is the Managing Editor of newspaper “The Sunday Guardian” . The Sunday guardian news paper was founded by MJ Akbar, who became Rajya Sabha Mp and Minister. Sunday Guardian was acquired by itv networks, whose founder Kartikeya Sharma is current Rajya Sabha MP. Check the website link which says that Pankaj Vohra is the Managing Editor of this big Newspaper company https://www.itvnetwork.com/about-team (talk) 07:00, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
[1][2] (talk) 07:28, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The sources you have posted do not establish notability. The first two cannot be used as they are not independent of the subject, they are simply statements by his employers. The third is simply promotional, essentially a curriculum vitae. I would encourage you to read WP:RS which explains in detail what is acceptable in terms of sourcing. Lord Puneet Kumar Superstar moved to draftspace[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Lord Puneet Kumar Superstar. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it has no sources, it needs more sources to establish notability and it has major structural and citation problems and no categories. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. BoyTheKingCanDance (talk) 07:28, 19 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Lord Puneet Kumar Superstar requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Notice

The article Lord Puneet Kumar Superstar has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable person. Article shows no evidence of passing WP:NACTOR or WP:GNG. A WP:BEFORE search shows some tabloid-style sources, but nothing to show notability outside of participation in Bigg Boss OTT.
