Thank you. Not long ago I was an editor on Hebrew Wikipedia,so I know some things about the site. 2pac Is Alive (talk) 13:58, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Israeli Singles Chart[edit]

Please do not add this chart to song or album articles. It has been blacklisted. Thank you. I Help, When I Can.[12] 14:52, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't understand, why not? 2pac Is Alive (talk) 15:02, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The Israeli Singles Chart is blacklisted. This means that there is either a problem with the chart's methodology or resources that is so severe, it cannot be used on Wikipedia. I Help, When I Can.[12] 15:23, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
But all of the charts in the section are blacklisted... 2pac Is Alive (talk) 15:34, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Did you read the list? I Help, When I Can.[12] 15:38, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes but I saw in some songs articles the "Tokio Hot 100" chart, "México Top 100" chart or the "Portuguese Singles" chart. So why can't I add the Israeli singles chart? I have References. 2pac Is Alive (talk) 15:42, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sometimes, these charts slip through the cracks in articles. When they are found, they are deleted. Like this instance where I deleted yours. I Help, When I Can.[12] 15:53, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Do not add charts listed on WP:BADCHARTS to articles. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing.—Kww(talk) 15:57, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think you don't understand, I have read WP:BADCHARTS and the official Israeli Singles Chart is not www.charts.co.il. The official singles chart is the "One by One" chart of Galgalatz. 2pac Is Alive (talk) 18:02, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I understand perfectly. The "One by One" chart is also by Galgalatz. It's a single network chart. www.charts.co.il is just one of many places the same chart is published, but the reason it's a bad chart is that it only covers play on Galgalatz stations. —Kww(talk) 18:25, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No, www.charts.co.il and http://www.glgltz.co.il/ are different sites. www.charts.co.il is not an active site and so do the singles chart there. You need to change the information in WP:BADCHARTS! Nothing is wrong with the official Israeli singles chart and it should be fine to add him to a "Chart performance" section. 2pac Is Alive (talk) 18:36, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I can add the website you are using, too, but the Galgalatz charts are not acceptable. They only cover the Galgalatz stations. That's the reason the charts were added. You must not add the Galgalatz charts to articles.—Kww(talk) 18:50, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The guideline has been clarified to specifically include using the Galgalatz chart directly.—Kww(talk) 18:53, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry for being stupid, but I didn't understand you, again. If I can't use the israeli single chart from Galgalatz, which website should I use?? 19:18, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
There is no acceptable chart of Israel. That's true for a lot of countries: Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Portugal, Lithuania, ... the list goes on.—Kww(talk) 19:43, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
How can someone fix it? Is it possible? 2pac Is Alive (talk) 14:54, 5 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No one on Wikipedia can fix it. Some recognized authority inside of Israel would have to produce a chart that combined play on multiple networks or sales through multiple retailers.—Kww(talk) 11:23, 10 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not really an attack considering "butthurt" isn't really much as an insult, anyway don't attack him (even if you didn't) --ChristianandJericho 09:06, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Better source request for File:OutkastTheTrain.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:OutkastTheTrain.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 20:38, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

October 2011[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Matter Fixed. Doing so helps everyone understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. Please give a reason when you are changing a number. Otherwise you risk having your edit reverted. Eeekster (talk) 20:42, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you but I already know how to edit and create articles, not long ago I was an editor on Hebrew Wikipedia. 2pac Is Alive (talk) 20:46, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Then why aren't you explaining your number changes in the edit summary? Eeekster (talk) 20:56, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Because I don't remember any 'edit summary' in Hebrew Wikipedia... It's not familiar to me. 2pac Is Alive (talk) 21:02, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Then don't say you "know how to edit and create articles" here. And please explain your edits in the edit summary if you don't want them reverted. Eeekster (talk) 21:57, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:KidCudiMrRagerArtwork.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:KidCudiMrRagerArtwork.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 07:24, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Marry You, please cite a reliable source for your addition. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Please don't add information strictly against a source unless you supply a better one Muhandes (talk) 19:42, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:MarlonRidingHome.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:MarlonRidingHome.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Melesse (talk) 05:00, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Israeli Singles Chart[edit]

The Galgalatz charts are listed on WP:BADCHARTS because they are a single network chart: they only show data for the Galgalatz network. If you can find a chart that combines multiple Israeli networks or combines airplay and sales, that would be fine, but no one has found such a chart.—Kww(talk) 14:26, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Galgalatz chart is the only main International chart in Israel, so I think it represents the israeli music. The editors on Hebrew Wikipedia also think like me, so why not? 2pac Is Alive (talk) 14:43, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
We don't have any single network charts on English Wikipedia. Not iTunes, not Amazon, not Los 40 Principales, or any others. Single network charts serve to promote the network in question, and that isn't our job. Every Wikipedia has its own guidelines, though, and may include charts that aren't included here.—Kww(talk) 14:47, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

United World Chart and other details[edit]

Your recent edits adding a World Chart peak for their European chart on "You Da One" have been reverted. The reason is that worldcharts is not considered a reliable source; see WP:BADCHARTS.

I am also curious about the rest of your addition, as you seem to have used an incorrect or made-up title for the page, and included a {{Dead link}} template as well. Did you copy this from somewhere? Where from? In any case, please remember to check your work before you leave a page you edit. Thanks, — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 11:15, 24 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The European chart is legal and this is the official website for the chart. You can see the link. 2pac Is Alive (talk) 12:43, 24 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've seen the link. I didn't suggest the chart is in any way illegal. I just meant that we consider the site to be an unreliable source of music performance data and we don't use their charts on Wikipedia. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 11:30, 25 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you have been adding charts from hot100brasil.com, which is, once again, a chart listed on WP:BADCHARTS. Looking over your talk page, I can see that several editors have warned you about adding bad charts to articles. This needs to come to an end, as it is getting disruptive.—Kww(talk) 02:47, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry I didn't notice that the chart is listed there. I thought it was the Billboard-Brasil. 2pac Is Alive (talk) 12:20, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid "The chart is fine" isn't sufficient: please show me any reliable source that refers to http://www.worldcharts.co.uk/world%20charts/european.htm and shows that it is a reliable chart with an acceptable methodology.—Kww(talk) 12:26, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There are users who told me the chart is fine and I should listen to those 20, not to you. Don't remove the chart. 2pac Is Alive (talk) 12:29, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You shouldn't listen to users, you should listen to sources, and follow WP:RS. What evidence do you have that worldcharts.co.uk is a " reliable, third-party, published source with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy"?—Kww(talk) 12:43, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Whatever you say, I'm tired of arguing with you, stop being so hard! there are like 10000 singles' articles with this chart so I'm right. I'll keep adding the chart to articles. If you don't like it block me. 2pac Is Alive (talk) 12:53, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There is no expiration date, why is that? You can't do whatever you want just because you can block users... I did nothing wrong, the chart is legal (even if the sites I used are blacklisted) and you know that. 2pac Is Alive (talk) 17:07, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There's no expiration date because you won't be unblocked until you agree to follow guidelines and discuss sources. The original block message, which you deleted, stated that you were blocked for "refusal to comply with chart guidelines, WP:RS, and editor warnings." It further said "Any admin can lift this block when user agrees to discuss reliability of sources and comply with consensus about them." You've got two choices: either tell me that you are going to discuss reliability of sources and comply with consensus about them, and I will unblock you; or you can use {{unblock}} and attempt to persuade another admin that my block was unreasonable. I can promise you that the former will be faster: very few admins will look at a statement like "I'll keep adding the chart to articles. If you don't like it block me." as not justifying a block. Despite your protestations, there are only a handful of references to worldcharts.co.uk, not thousands.—Kww(talk) 17:59, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Fine, I won't add the European chart anymore, Next time I'll ask you about the source I want to add. Now can you please unblock me? There are things I should edit. 2pac Is Alive (talk) 18:18, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'll unblock, but I just want to reiterate that the problem isn't a European chart, it's that you added a European chart from an anonymous source. If you find a reliable source for a European chart, it will be OK.—Kww(talk) 18:26, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I said that if I'll find a source that I think is good, I'll ask you first. 2pac Is Alive (talk) 18:28, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't mean to nag, but honestly, this isn't an issue of getting my opinion. There's a talk page at WT:Record charts. There's a noticeboard for checking whether a source is reliable at WP:RSN. There's WP:RS itself, which contains most of what you need. All you need to do is ask yourself:

  1. Does this source tell me the actual source of the information?
  2. Is that source something that I can show is considered by most people to be a reliable source for that data?

I think you know that a site like worldcharts.co.uk doesn't meet either of those two tests.—Kww(talk) 19:21, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

More information needed about File:MatterFixedUK.jpg[edit]

Hello, 2pac Is Alive!

It was really helpful of you to you to upload File:MatterFixedUK.jpg. However, we need to properly format the image license information in order to keep and use new images.

If you can edit the description and add one of these templates, that would be great. If you're not sure how or would like some help, please ask us at the media copyright questions page and we'll be happy to assist you.

Thanks again! --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 17:06, 9 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

MediaForest[edit]

Looks good: clearly identifiable source, with airplay from stations in multiple networks. I have to go to work fairly soon. If you wait until this time tomorrow, I can build a singlechart call that will support it. You will have less trouble with people reverting it if you wait for that.—Kww(talk) 12:26, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okay thank you, as you can see I created the Media Forest article here, so you can add it too. 2pac Is Alive (talk) 20:02, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Media Forest requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 20:06, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I declined the speedy, but had to do a bit of rewriting to justify keeping the article. Any good sourcing you can find about people that use the company will help it survive at AFD if it winds up there.—Kww(talk) 21:45, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

singlechart[edit]

{{singlechart|Israelairplay|position|year=year|week=week}} or {{singlechart|Israeliairplay|position|year=year|week=week}} will work now. Let me know if you have any trouble.—Kww(talk) 02:22, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, but I think it will be better if the text will be "Israel (Media Forest Airplay chart)" and not "Israeli Airplay (Media Forest)". 2pac Is Alive (talk) 12:49, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Media Forest for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Media Forest is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Media Forest until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 08:28, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

AFD[edit]

I'm not particularly useful with Hebrew sources. Can you find any sources in the Israeli press that show who is actually using or subscribed to Media Forest charts?—Kww(talk) 11:37, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've spent some time looking today, and can tell you that unless we find something, the Media Forest article will be removed. That's going to cause Media Forest's charts to go on WP:BADCHARTS, and we are right back where we started with Israel. I can't find anything at all, which means I probably jumped the gun adding the template. I won't undo anything I've done, but someone needs to find something to justify keeping the article and the chart.—Kww(talk) 12:07, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
When you say "using or subscribed", what do you mean? If by subscription you mean users and accounts you can see that here. But I don't think I understood you. I found official, famous sites in Israel that talk about the site and the charts:

Link 1 Link 2 Link 3 - explanation about the company, Mako.

2pac Is Alive (talk) 12:37, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

By "users", I meant other companies that reference Media Forest in their material or republish the chart, and we can't use Media Forest to do so. The mako.co.il links look promising. I'll look at them more tonight. It's slow, because I can only deal with Hebrew through machine translation.—Kww(talk) 12:53, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much, and please if you can fix the text in the chart to "Israel (Media Forest Airplay chart)", as I wrote before. 2pac Is Alive (talk) 12:57, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think it would be prudent not to add that chart to articles until consensus is achieved (though of course this is just a suggestion, do as you wish). I noticed it on quite a number of articles already, and it will be much work to remove it if it is found inappropriate. Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 09:46, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I thought the chart is legal now. I've provided the sources which support the site. What more can I do? 2pac Is Alive (talk) 10:56, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure what else you can do. You supplied some sources, and discussion is ongoing on whether they are enough or not to establish the notability of this company/chart (and I'm not saying they are synonymous). All I said was that it is prudent to wait for such discussions to reach consensus before acting upon them. That may save work later. --Muhandes (talk) 11:01, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Addendum: I'm also not sure what you mean by "legal", unless I missed some discussion in which consensus was reached that the chart is acceptable. All I am aware of is an AfD and the personal correspondence between you and Kww. --Muhandes (talk) 11:03, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Certification in Israel[edit]

I have little doubt about the numbers you added, 20,000 and 40,000 are correct. This can be supported by dozens of reliable sources (at least one of which should be added to the list). My main problem is that although I'm pretty sure Acum is the one doing the certifications, I can't find good sources for that. I found this which says "an official number by Acum". but that's about it. Can you find something more substantial? I'm also not sure how you know this is for shipments (like in the US) rather than for sales (like in France for instance). --Muhandes (talk) 14:31, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I know that the certifications are based by shipments because I saw people in the Israeli music business talk about the subject on TV, so I can't add a source from the internet... But I found a source which proves I'm right about the number of copies (Mako). The source is about a gold album of the Israeli band Asaf Avidan & Mojos (over 20,000 sold copies).
As I said, there are dozens of sources about the numbers, I'm not worried about that (e.g. Gold: [1], [2] [3] Platinum: [4] [5] [6]) . I'm worried about the authority (IFPI Israel or ACUM) and about shipments (which I'll take your word for, but we need a reliable source). --Muhandes (talk) 15:06, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think it is simple, just go to the Acum official website. 2pac Is Alive (talk) 17:17, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps I am missing something, but I looked all over both that website and the website of IFPI Israel, and I could not find information in either of them. Where exactly in the website? --Muhandes (talk) 19:33, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Cover antihero.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Cover antihero.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Non-free rationale for File:Mediaforest.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Mediaforest.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Media Forest article[edit]

You can't just keep recreating nearly identical articles after it has been deleted at AFD. If you want a Media Forest article, you will need to use third-party references to expand the article so that it isn't nearly identical to the one that was deleted. Having a standalone article is a completely separate topic from using the chart in other articles.—Kww(talk) 17:32, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

IFPI/MediaForest[edit]

MediaForest and IFPI are not affiliated, so this edit is not appropriate. What are you trying to accomplish?—Kww(talk) 14:10, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am very sorry, it was a misunderstanding. I thought that Romania is part of IFPI so I concluded that there's a connection between Media Forest and IFPI. 2pac Is Alive (talk) 14:16, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Are there articles claiming that Media Forest's Romanian chart is connected to the IFPI? It's not.—Kww(talk) 14:20, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Can I link media Forrest to List of radio stations in Israel?
No, because it isn't a radio station in Israel, nor is it discussed in that article. When we were discussing this, you found a number of sources that Muhandes accepted. Don't you think you could build an article about Media Forest out of those? The problem with the one you've been recreating is that it doesn't use any third-party sources.—Kww(talk) 14:46, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You didn't even warn me, and you didn't give me time to use third-party sources. I'll thank you if you restore the article, then I'll add third-party sources. 2pac Is Alive (talk) 14:54, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It's at User talk:2pac Is Alive/Media Forest. Let me know when you think you are finished. If I agree, I'll move it back.—Kww(talk) 15:54, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Moved back to Media Forest, and restored link from singlechart.—Kww(talk) 13:32, 25 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You might consider putting something (anything) on your User page. This will get the red out your edit summaries. Cheers. 7&6=thirteen () 13:44, 12 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Suffice it to say, this is not acceptable behavior at Wikipedia. Please find a less colorful way to express your displeasure with others. Green Day discography[edit]

Please stop adding Hot 100 Airplay chart positions to the table. The column header clearly points to the main Billboard Hot 100 article and Airplay chart numbers should not be mixed in the same column. If you want to gain a consensus to change the way the columns are organized, then please begin a discussion on the article's talk page. Reverting and undoing over and over again is not constructive.
