Re: Why?[edit]

Did you cite your sources? You have to justify your changes and prove them; especially on sports articles; otherwise it's basically vandalism. Too many rabid sports fans are willing to fudge scores a bit to make their teams look better. Melody 06:12, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would like you to assume good faith while interacting with other editors. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Pages aren't protected for no reason at all; asking another editor who is more experienced to help you make an edit isn't wrong either. We all work to protect the same interest. Keeping calm is key. If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
I assumed you were acting in good faith. I just also assumed you were ignorant of your obligation to use tools properly. That you were ignorant of your obligation to use edit summaries. And that you were ignorant of the convention with updating of stats in baseball infoboxes. And that you were ignorant - and still refuse to follow - the convention of responding to a talk page comment on the same talk page. And that you were ignorant of the fact that you should not accuse someone of being a vandal when they are making a proper edit - as you did. All of that is ignorance, and not bad faith, and nobody said it was bad faith. So you post here is very hostile and innaprpriate. 2604:2000:E010:1100:B1D8:2CA1:6CE6:78E8 (talk) 08:12, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
