Pontius Pilate[edit]

Quoting/citing a religious text to counter an academic argument is not permitted. Use a secondary source (Academic). Jerm (talk) 17:47, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I see too many sourcing of the Bible on various articles, such as even Herod Antipas, so don't give me that nonsense. Bart Ehrman referred specifically to that passage, which is I sourced it.2601:447:4100:C120:513B:52D3:C564:8269 (talk) 17:51, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Many articles are outdated, Pontius Pilate is not. Go to the articles talk page and start a discussion per WP:BRD. Jerm (talk) 17:55, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Beat you to it. I included the direct source for clear educational, non-religious reasons.2601:447:4100:C120:513B:52D3:C564:8269 (talk) 17:58, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at Pontius Pilate shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Consensus is why I erased my own edit before you could. You wasted your time with this warning. You gonna block me for pointing that out too?2601:447:4100:C120:513B:52D3:C564:8269 (talk) 18:28, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm the last person who would block you, don't worry about me doing that. I didn't see your self revert until after the warning, but no need to worry about it unless you resume edit warring. You can go to WP:NORN if you think your edit complies with policy. Doug Weller talk 18:49, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
