Drmies, mass attack or one user donning multiple socks? Cheers, 2601:188:180:B8E0:0:0:0:D869 (talk) 03:29, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Good grief. -- Cosmic (talk) 03:32, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Meh that's nothing! Look at the history of Gary Wilson (author)--and then Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Potatochipsegs-zs8-1judo. And to think that we only get $2 for a CU block... Drmies (talk) 03:42, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You win. 2601:188:180:B8E0:0:0:0:D869 (talk) 03:44, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That was no contest. Listen, I blocked the worst of em--let's see if the other kids find somewhere else to play. Thanks! Drmies (talk) 03:46, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Yeah, they didn't look particularly virulent. I can't always offer up exciting miscreants. Some nights it's garden variety stuff. 2601:188:180:B8E0:0:0:0:D869 (talk) 03:48, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bbb23, looks like a sock of a self-promotional account you blocked. Cheers, 2601:188:180:B8E0:0:0:0:D869 (talk) 14:26, 17 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! --Bbb23 (talk) 15:25, 17 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Of course, Bbb23. Working to keep Wikipedia safe from teenage wannabes. 2601:188:180:B8E0:0:0:0:D869 (talk) 16:23, 17 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you[edit]

For all the anti-vandal edits you have made. Being an IP myself, it is always a joy to see another cleaning up vandalism! Cheers, 47.227.95.73 (talk) 23:15, 19 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

New favorite edit summary[edit]

One is hard pressed not to agree [1]. 2601:188:180:B8E0:0:0:0:D869 (talk) 01:15, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Drmies, this has recently undergone expansion by IPs from UPenn, where the subject teaches, so there has been an increased promotional slant. More eyes will be appreciated--Melcous, if you're game, please have a look, too. Thanks, 2601:188:180:B8E0:0:0:0:D869 (talk) 18:27, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Actually, they probably improved it. Still. 2601:188:180:B8E0:0:0:0:D869 (talk) 18:29, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Still" indeed. Unbelievable: there isn't a single secondary source in that article. Drmies (talk) 19:22, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Drmies, wow. Worse than I realized. Thank you. Incidentally, I worked with someone at UPenn a few years ago, went to Philly five or six times to complete a project. Great experience. 2601:188:180:B8E0:0:0:0:D869 (talk) 19:52, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

And while we're at it, Drmies, how to handle Christian Scott? He does appear to prefer to go by Chief Adjuah now [2], but I'm not sure how to handle that in the lede and infobox. 2601:188:180:B8E0:0:0:0:D869 (talk) 21:56, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Vanity article. Looks notable, but pretty much a puff piece written largely by the subject. Any talk page stalkers up for a rewrite? Most of it's unsourced and can probably go. 2601:188:180:B8E0:0:0:0:D869 (talk) 03:03, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks for helping out this evening, Drmies. During the light of day, please have a look at this bio. It's awful. 2601:188:180:B8E0:0:0:0:D869 (talk) 03:32, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Yeah I saw your note on AIV. Got a dog, got a Scotch, so let's see. Drmies (talk) 03:33, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Hmm it's terrible--like so many articles on almost-notable musicians. Where to start. But I still need to figure out how to tie Sidney Lanier to the language of chivalry during Reconstruction... Drmies (talk) 03:35, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
