Hi User:111.94.241.18, I'll answer your question that you left on my Talk page about article date format for South Korean subject matter pages. Since you are asking the same question to other editors, I thought responding centrally here on your page might be best.

I think Administrator and long-term editor Amakuru answered the question perfectly for you here: [1].

I am not an Administrator, and am constantly learning new things on Wikipedia, too. My own use of the American style of dates is fairly self-explanatory, it is just easier for me since that is the way that I learned it. However, as Amakuru pointed out to you in the reference to MOS:DATEVAR, if I am not the first editor on a page, I will follow the style used by the original editor, or the style that has been consistently used on that article.

You will find how to handle variations of British and American spelling, too, at MOS:ENGVAR and WP:TITLEVAR and Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Spelling. Also, the British/American variations of the use of quotation marks, at MOS:QUOTE and more indepth at WP:LQUOTE.

Since Wikipedia is world wide, many editors have spent years putting together the style rules for us all to follow, even though we initially speak and write variations of the English language, as well as many other languages. The rules pretty much say there is no wrong or right way in the choice of British or American style, just to honor the original source and style, when quoting. And fortunately, Wikipedia has many very dedicated editors that spend most of their time helping us out by monitoring our punctuation, grammar and spelling; and have created automatic "bots" that catch many of the problems.

I'm sorry that I cannot help you anymore with this question. I have not analyzed all "South Korean" articles on Wikipedia, and don't think we need to. The rules work very well, and if editors had complaints, each instance would have been dealt with on individual articles. Again....the rules say that either British or American style may be used....just to follow the lead of the first editor. However, if you can provide examples of pages that you think are not done correctly, myself and other editors may look into it for you.
