October 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Vchimpanzee. I noticed that you made one or more changes to an article, Wireless Emergency Alerts, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 19:10, 3 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure how exactly to cite, but I tried to give a source in the edit description. Also, I personally never got the alert, and know some others who haven't. As for a reliable source, that might have to wait. 108.160.125.102 (talk) 19:12, 3 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
If you contacted a newspaper or TV station and they interviewed you and you told them who the others are who didn't get the alert and they reported it, there's your source.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 21:41, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Here we go! You can use that as your source, but we were both reverted. neither of us noticed there were details of the test already in the article.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 21:41, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. And no prob. 108.160.125.102 (talk) 22:19, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I went ahead and added it. There was a lot of detail. Whether it will be accepted we have yet to know.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 15:39, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't see the source in your edit summary, but that's not where it goes. I'm not sure that would have been accepted since there are better sources.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 15:41, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Should have found better sources. Thanks. 108.160.125.102 (talk) 17:17, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

October 2018[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Moons of Saturn. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. - FlightTime (open channel) 00:07, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive behaviour. It appears you are purposefully harassing another editor. Wikipedia aims to provide a safe environment for its collaborators, and harassing other users, as you did on User talk:FlightTime, potentially compromises that safe environment. If you continue behaving like this, you may be blocked from editing. Acroterion (talk) 00:12, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
Please provide sources, not unsupported assertions, and stop harassing editors who ask you to comply with sourcing policy. Acroterion (talk) 00:13, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The source is the article itself. This is common knowledge among ANYONE who knows ANYTHING about the Saturnian moons. 108.160.125.102 (talk) 00:14, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Provide sources supporting your preferred language, this should not be difficult. This is an easy one compared to most situations, and "everybody knows this" is an appropriate response to "the sky is blue," not a discussion of the moons of Saturn. Acroterion (talk) 00:16, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The sizes are my support. Is Hyperion called a large moon? No. Therefore, Phoebe should not be called a large moon. It is larger relative to the other irregular satellites, but it gives a misleading impression. 108.160.125.102 (talk) 00:17, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I get that. Nevertheless, please do a little research in the literature concerning the moons of Saturn to support what scholars say about the relative sizes and characteristics of the moons of Saturn. When you add references you help people doing research to extend their knowledge and get deeper into the subject. That's one of the other reasons beyond verifiability requirements for doing the right thing. Acroterion (talk) 00:21, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

LOL! @ your sandbox work. 67.70.247.171 (talk) 03:00, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I HATE WIKIPEDIA AND I WANT YOU TO KNOW THIS!!!!!~!~!~!108.160.125.102 (talk) 03:01, 21 October 2018 (UTC)`[reply]
Why not visit another site or do something else then if you hate Wikipedia? You'll (probably) be much happier off. Sakura CarteletTalk 03:03, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That was my brother and he will be grounded. 108.160.125.102 (talk) 03:04, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
While this IP address is assigned to your computer, any edits made using that computer will be attributed to the IP address and it will be blocked if the nonconstructive edits continue, regardless of who performs them. General Ization Talk 03:07, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
We're not even on the same computer, but share an IP address? How is that possible? I'm not technologically inclined.
And you wonder why he hates Wikipedia with attitudes like that of General Ization above... *sigh*. 67.70.247.171 (talk) 03:09, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
LOL WP:BRO - FlightTime (open channel) 03:11, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Your router is assigned a broadband IP address by your internet provider. This address is typically different than the local IPs assigned to individual computers using that router. Any computer using the router will appear to Wikipedia as using the broadband IP address (and that IP address will be blocked if disruptive editing continues). General Ization Talk 03:13, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
To the brother, don't edit Wikipedia if you hate it. You don't need to take the entire thing down, if that's what it sounds like. I know what trolls like. As for the other person, consider registering a username and signing up so that your brother's edits aren't associated with yours. And don't let him know your password. ― Дрейгорич / Dreigorich Talk 03:15, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
If I were you, I'd try locking your brother in a cupboard. If that fails though, and you really can't stop him from getting this IP blocked I'd next recommend trying to reboot your router. If your ISP is assigning your public IP dynamically it should be different and you can circumvent the block. You're welcome. 67.70.247.171 (talk) 03:16, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That's a bit harsh, don't you think? Grounded should work for now. Reboot your router if you can - it should change the IP. If that doesn't work, sign up for an account. ― Дрейгорич / Dreigorich Talk 03:18, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well, should I reboot the router and see if that changes my IP somehow or should I just sign up for a username? 108.160.125.102 (talk) 03:19, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You're not blocked, and you don't need to reboot your router. Just sign up for an account, keep the password safe, log out when you're done editing, and you should be fine. Acroterion (talk) 03:20, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. 108.160.125.102 (talk) 03:24, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, if you want to remain an IP editor, that's also okay. Signing up for an account just gets you a bit more respect in the Wikipedia community. And multiple people can share IP addresses, including apparently me with both of you. ― Дрейгорич / Dreigorich Talk 03:27, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to get away from both JOHNATHAN who tattled on me and whoever this Russian guy is. Who the hell are you and why do you share an IP address with me and my brother, who grounded me? 108.160.125.102 (talk) 03:33, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
WP:PA I will report you. ― Дрейгорич / Dreigorich Talk 03:35, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Дрейгорич: What attack ? - FlightTime (open channel) 03:37, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
GROUNDED. GROUNDED. GROUNDED. Now Dreigorich, leave me alone or I will find where you live and burn it to the ground. 108.160.125.102 (talk) 03:38, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Whoever is behind that computer screen, both of you, please stop. I can and will report you for this. ― Дрейгорич / Dreigorich Talk 03:39, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
OK, enough. @Acroterion: Please block this IP. If anyone at the other end is a responsible editor, they now know they can sign up an account to continue editing responsibly. General Ization Talk 03:40, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Why exactly does an older sibling get to ground his younger brother? Surely that's the parents' job. Speaking of which, where are the parents in all of this? Not the most observant pair I must say... 67.70.247.171 (talk) 03:43, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

That's one for sure. - FlightTime (open channel) 03:47, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

GROUNDED.[edit]

Hi Johnathan and Aidan, Dad here.

You are grounded for 4 months for harassing and personally attacking another user. This is unacceptable behavior and you are banned from the internet. I will be calling the cable company and telling them that there will be no internet for 4 months. Enjoy your time off.

-Dad.
