License tagging for File:Betty Jack Davies.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Betty Jack Davies.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 10:14, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Cos (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Cntras (talk) 11:54, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification[edit]

Hi. When you recently edited The Game of Triangles, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Norma Jean (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 19:25, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Fable Records, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.milesago.com/industry/fable.htm.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Copyright problems with Fable Records[edit]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Fable Records, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.milesago.com/industry/fable.htm. As a copyright violation, Fable Records appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Fable Records has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Fable Records and send an email with the message to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that it is licensed under the CC-BY-SA license, leave a note at Talk:Fable Records with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the CC-BY-SA and GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Fable Records.

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While contributions are appreciated, Wikipedia must require all contributors to understand and comply with its copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. Yasht101 17:28, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Liv Maessen (album) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unreferenced and not notable.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. AdventurousSquirrel (talk) 20:42, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Karen Young.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File permission problem with File:Karen Young (American Singer).jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Karen Young (American Singer).jpg, which you've sourced to http://www.technodisco.net/karen-young/the-best-of-karen-young-hot-shot-467397.html. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 09:19, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, 1000 Volts, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia. Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please remember to disclose these connections.

You appear to be editing as at least two IPs that I can see, and using them to edit war against me at the moment. Cease immediately to do that or I will file a report against you. And stop re-adding Graves and Hunt to the Fleetwood Mac members list, they were not permanent members. Bretonbanquet (talk) 17:28, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Walker joined Sabbath as a permanent member – it just so happened that the plans changed and he didn't stay long. Hunt and Graves were never intended to join Mac permanently and just helped out on the tour. Only permanent members go on the lists. Bretonbanquet (talk) 17:34, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The point is that it didn't happen and he didn't join permanently. Bretonbanquet (talk) 17:42, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You keep saying that but I don't see you adding a reference. You are going to need to add a reliable source to back that up. I don't think he was anything other than a touring member since they already had a keyboard player and there's little point in having two. Find a source and it can go in, but it doesn't go in the timeline or in the infobox, or the template. There have been dozens of touring members and session guys with Fleetwood Mac. Bretonbanquet (talk) 14:38, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That doesn't sound like he was being recruited as a permanent member. Many musicians have helped out in a similar way - Nigel Watson, Asante, Michael Thompson etc – they're not permanent members. In any case, we'll need the title and date of the magazine. Bretonbanquet (talk) 14:46, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
In that case (and we still need the title of the magazine, it cannot be added without it), all we can say is that he was being lined up as a future member but it never happened, preferably with a quote from him and/or Christine. We can't claim he was a member because there are too many sources that deny it, and he never recorded. Someone will just take it off again. Bretonbanquet (talk) 14:58, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
OK, we can add that. Melody Maker makes sense as there was an issue for that day and it can be verified. I can add the quote in the text with a reference if you want, unless you want to do it? Bretonbanquet (talk) 15:12, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've added a note to the text, but it can't go on the timeline because even if he was going to be a full member, it didn't actually happen. You say he left after the tour, so he was basically just a touring member. Bretonbanquet (talk) 15:29, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, I don't buy that. Why would he say he was hoping to enter the studio soon and then say he had already done it? Also, if the piece is dated 26 October they were in the middle of the tour and would not have had time to go into the studio. I can verify this when I get the magazine, and obviously if this stuff isn't true I'll take it out. Bretonbanquet (talk) 15:45, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It's way too shaky. There's never been any mention anywhere of any sessions in late '74 and I have a full itinerary of all Mac sessions from '67 through to the 90s. It's going to need a better source than that. Bretonbanquet (talk) 15:50, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There's no way he can go in the timeline on that evidence, it's just not reliable enough. He's fine to be mentioned in the touring members section, but not in the past members section as he never became an official member. This stuff needs to be accurate and verifiable. Bretonbanquet (talk) 15:55, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not really. It wouldn't be the first time a musician has exaggerated about something, and the proof would be in the recordings (which have never surfaced) or in a quote from someone else (which we don't have). Bretonbanquet (talk) 16:00, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't matter what happens at other articles – anyway, Sabbath had very different ideas as to what constituted an official member. Don't forget, there were a lot of touring members of Fleetwood Mac (and still are), and the timeline isn't about every musician who played a triangle at three gigs in 1968. It's supposed to be an overview of the official members, like the infobox. Graves had an extremely small impact on Fleetwood Mac, and it's not good to overstate it. Bretonbanquet (talk) 16:14, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Christine should probably be above the bass guitarists in the timeline, yes – if you know how to move them, you can do so. Nigel Watson was a touring member for the US tour of 1971. Bretonbanquet (talk) 16:39, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

File:Tollie9006.png missing description details[edit]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.

File source problem with File:Big3fmdj.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Big3fmdj.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Reverted edit[edit]

You'll want to make your changes to the current version of the article: People Party (1973–75), not the old title. Hopefully this makes sense to you. Marcus Qwertyus (talk) 23:49, 21 July 2013 (UTC) {{subst:Reviewednote-NPF|The Ecology Party|SPat|I think the party is not notable by itself, as it was just a name used by the Green Party. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Renaissance Illusion requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. ~ Boomur [] 03:57, 30 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Reference Errors on 14 January[edit]

Hello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 05:00, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of The Downings, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://sghistory.com/index.php?n=D.Downings.

(If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) MadmanBot (talk) 18:27, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have delete the old revisions of the article because the text was copied from this site. You can't copy and paste content from other sites as it infringes on their copyright and exposes Wikipedia to legal action. James086Talk 18:58, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on FM Records (Jazz/Folk) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.bsnpubs.com/veejay/fm.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:20, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
