The Hunger Games (film)

I noticed that you keep reverting my edit to The Hunger Games article and I would like to clear the air. First, I appreciate your dedication to the article, but you can't claim that your favoring of the first sentence is the "truth" when you don't have a source to back it up. The opening source should reflect the sources that are given.

1. The RottenTomatoes score is only 85% and 80% among top critics, which is only moderately positive.

2. The Metacritic score is a mere 67, which is moderately positive, considering Metacritic considers a score of 81 or higher to reflect "Critical acclaim"; instead, it's 67, which implies "Generally favorable reviews".

3. A large number of critics have pointed out flaws in the film, such as camera style and special effects, and some have made unfavorable comparisons to the book.

Unless you can find well-known sources that say otherwise, the film has only been positively received, and calling it "widely acclaimed" could be considered a form of bias. User:AndrewAllen15

Bangerz

The same reviewer that quickfailed Bangerz the first time has come back and quickfailed it for the second time with no legitimate reason for no holding period (and a questionable comment about their own GAN that I'm not sure what to make of.) Personally, I think the article is ready for an full review by an editor who is willing to give time for needed improvements, but if the first reviewer has failed it twice before there's a good change he'll do it again. Should I renominate the article and hope that the third time is the charm, or should I hold off for a little while? WikiRedactor (talk) 19:16, 15 April 2014 (UTC)

@WikiRedactor: – Hmm. I would suggest discussing this with an administrator, I know that @Zanimum: has always been helpful. From just a quick look at the user, he seems to have just recently been blocked, and does not seem to hold a firm grasp on the qualities for a WP:GA. Also, I've noticed several strange things:
  • 1. He's failed every single one of your recently nominated GA's with no reason other than a "quick fail" with barely any justification
  • 2. His comment "I don't want to get bothered by this article's name appearing less than two spaces below my GAN" could be seen as a threat.
  • 3. His comment on the Talk:Adore You/GA1 which he declares you "please note that I can't stand pop music in general" obviously shows a personal bias.
This makes me a little suspicious that his motives may have to do more with his own personal bias and preferences, and less with the actual article.--Giacobbe talk 19:42, 15 April 2014 (UTC)

I'll look at the article later tonight, hopefully, but in the meantime, I'm not sure what standards Wikipedia has for what is a personal attack and what is not, but he's certainly not friendly towards WikiRedactor and three others on his user page. -- Zanimum (talk) 20:05, 15 April 2014 (UTC)

I do also agree that his grasp of practice is limited, at least in some areas. There's extremely, extremely rare circumstances where a reference can be in the lead and not the article, but I'm blanking on what that even was. Citing a section that doesn't exist is sad, and whether or not he likes the song or performer, Impact is very legitimate. -- Zanimum (talk) 20:10, 15 April 2014 (UTC)

I was trying to assume good faith, although the points that you raised (especially the "I can't stand pop music in general" comment, which I didn't even notice before now) certainly don't help his case. My hope is to renominate the article soon because I would love to make Bangerz a GT after the tour finishes, and since it would appear he has been blocked, I will (maybe) renominate it in a little while after things are settled. Thanks so much for the help you guys! WikiRedactor (talk) 20:20, 15 April 2014 (UTC)
If Zanimum is busy, I could also review it. In the meantime WikiRedactor, would you mind leaving input for Giacobbe and myself here? XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 20:46, 15 April 2014 (UTC)
  • Sorry to randomly pop up here, but I was disappointed to see what that user did to your GANs for Bangerz, WikiRedactor. Judging by their wording it seems like they have something against you and a bias against the genre of music, so they should not be reviewing the articles, especially since it seems they do not have much a grasp of the criteria for GAs, as Bangerz definitely seems to be up to standard. Something on their user page also concerned me, "Speaking of GAs and FAs, I am not one of those editors who far too many times don't make their articles perfect enough for GAN and/or FAC like TonyTheTiger, Dr. Blofeld, Chris Gualtieri, and WikiRedactor. I don't do that, and I prefer making articles good enough to pass GARs and FACs easily." Seems like they are bordering on personal attacks way too much. I can smell a ANI case on this user if they continue this increasingly inappropriate behavior. STATic message me! 06:20, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
  • @STATicVapor: Thanks for the kind words about the Bangerz article! The more I learn about this user, though, the more I question their character; thinking that the article is legitimately not up to standard is one thing, but such an obvious bias against the genre and users (both of which unfortunately target me) is a completely different story. Hopefully this wave of inappropriate conduct will fade (maybe if someone says something to him the next time he acts up), but if this continues, we would definitely have to consider taking the next step. WikiRedactor (talk) 16:25, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
  • I just left a note here on that user's page regarding his quickfails and inappropriate userpage description. Think I missed any points? Zanimum I reviewed (and passed) Bangerz for GA so you have less reviews on your hands (I see you have quite the load), but am admin such as yourself should keep a close watch on this user's actions. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 21:21, 20 April 2014 (UTC)
  • WikiRedactor, the user has removed the inappropriate bit about you, and seems much friendlier now. I think that settled that bit, but the user should be watched in case. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 03:26, 21 April 2014 (UTC)
  • @XXSNUGGUMSXX: Thanks for leaving the note, I think that was just the wake-up call they needed and hopefully now we won't have to pursue it further. Thanks so much for your help! WikiRedactor (talk) 16:38, 21 April 2014 (UTC)

I see you've been doing lots of work related to Drake. In case you're interested in helping get this album to GA (which STATicVapor nominated), I've left a review. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 03:20, 27 April 2014 (UTC)

The New Classic

Hey there, I take it you have the album's booklet? Could you please help me out with the credits for each song (where they were recorded, mixers, instruments etc) as stated in the booklet? It would be of really high worth to Wiki? Especially 'Work' which I'm currently rewriting on MS Word for good article status? Pretty please let me know! Thanks! —CoolMarc 13:53, 4 May 2014 (UTC)

Giacobbe, I'm not sure if you remember me previously telling you in April (while we were working on E.T. (song) together) about my plans to get the Katy Perry article to FA in time for it to be "Today's Featured Article" on her 30th birthday this upcoming October, but now I'm putting it into action. Any input from frequent contributors such as yourself to her other articles (and other KatyCats) would be quite beneficial. I'm sure she would find this something good to celebrate. I understand if you're preoccupied with other projects, though. Just thought I'd let you know. I'm planning to take to FAC next month, so if you have any comments it would be best to give them in the PR (linked above) by July 11th. I can also help you with other projects you're working on. FAC

Hi Giacobbe, I have started an FAC for Katy Perry and your input would be highly appreciated. If all goes well, she'll be promoted in time to be "Today's Featured Article" for her 30th birthday this upcoming October 25th AND this will be the first featured article for the Katy Perry WikiProject! I'm going to be focused on this during its FAC, but afterwards shall we continue working on the "E.T." article and take that to FAC as well? SNUGGUMS (talk · contribs) 21:19, 25 July 2014 (UTC)

The Pinkprint

It would be appreciated if you looked over and voted on the move request for "The Pink Print" to the "The Pinkprint". Up to this point there hasn't been a direct response as to which spelling was correct. Nicki Minaj herself clarified the question directly stating it was written, "The Pinkprint", (https://twitter.com/NICKIMINAJ/status/497117375712329728). Leave either your support or opposition for the move here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:The_Pink_Print#Requested_move_06_August_2014. Proposed deletion of Forget Forever

The article Forget Forever has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NSONGS, there's no independent third party notability. Article is an entire WP:CONTENTFORK from its parent album article Stars Dance, almost entirely sourced by reviews of Stars Dance, while other sources are poor (Soundcloud) and unreliable blogs (Popdust, Love Is Pop) and sources deemed unreliable per WP:ALBUM/SOURCES.(Popcrush). Charting on a regional component chart in a very minor music market doesn't make the song notable, whatever non-trivial details that make the song notable can be merged back into Stars Dance.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
