Paulo Henrique, (born Paulo Henrique Carreira Jorge, on 23 July, 1968, In Luanda, (Angola) is a Portuguese choreographer and Multi-media Performance artist. As a choreographer he has created a number of performance/ installation pieces such as "From Now On" [1] 1996, "Minimally Invasive"[2] 1998, "Contract With The Skin"[3] 2000 and "Around One"[4] 2002. Paulo Henrique's work has been performed in the United States, Brazil, Japan, Africa, and throughout Europe, at such venues as the Dance Theatre Workshop[5] and La Mama in New York, the Mousonturm in Frankfurt, the Belem Cultural Centre in Lisbon. He has had works commissioned by the Festival Danças Na Cidade and for Lisbon's Expo '98 (1998 Lisbon World Exposition). Paulo Henrique was one of the first Portuguese Artists to integrate new technology into the performances to create Multi-Media dance & performances projects.

Originally from Luanda, Angola, Henrique's family moved to Leiria, Portugal in 1975 as a result of the civil war in Angola. He studied at Forum Dança in Lisbon with Meg Stuart, Vera Mantero and António Pinho Vargas. Henrique was awarded a grant from the Gulbenkian Foundation / American Luso Foundation and the Centro Nacional de Cultura to attend the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. From 1997 to 1999 he took an internship with Trisha Brown Dance Company. Whilst in New York, Henrique collaborated with Robert Flynt and Meredith Monk. Several of the works are now stored as part of the Digital Performance Archive[6]. In 2009 Paulo Henrique moved to Paris.

Recent Project: "Frame & Re-Frame" 2010, with Susana Cerqueira, Co-Production Centro Cultural de Belém, Lisbon & Arte Total, Braga.
