The proposed guideline[edit]

  1. Size, class, color
    Hbdragon88 (proposed different size)
    El Cid (against color)
    Ned Scott (supports color leniency)
    JosephK19 (non-standard color)
Wolf ODonnell (against the color used)
  2. Centered text
  3. Least meta-commentary
  4. Avoid sectionsJ
JQF (against as other projects use sections)
  5. Link lists over the individuals
  6. Exclude unreleased games and games never released in English. If space is at a premium, also exclude unreleased, upcoming games
El cid the hero (against in situations)
Melodia Chaconne (against for being too broad)
    JQF (against for being Americancentric)
  7. Useful links from all or most of the articles
    El cid the hero (against)
JQF (against, supports El cid the hero)
JosephK19 (against leaving out minor games as it is for navigation)
Ned Scott (usefulness of small navigational templates)
  8. Use nonbreaking spaces to make sure names don't split on linebreaks
  9. Separate names with bullets
  10. Omit the name of the series, in the game names, when space is at a premium
    Andre (against)
  11. Link style
  12. Italicize game names
Wolf ODonnell (concern over lack of rule's existence)
  13. Link style (spaces)
  14. No redlinks
JQF (against because it helps in making articles)

General support[edit]

  • Steel (no comment)
  • Combination (consistency, eliminates cruft)
  • Thunderbrand (likes)
  • TKD (remade the Halo template)
  • Hbdragon88 (simplified a few templates)

General disapproval[edit]

  • JQF (small list, inconsistant with other projects, POV on inclusion, etc)
  • Ned Scott (small list, usefulness)
  • the bread (separators, canon/non-canon)
  • Jagged 85 (out of line with other projects)
  • El cid the hero (usefulness, future games)
  • Krisp E (unclear why templates need changing)

Unknown[edit]

  • 81.154.105.3 (Incomprehensible disapproval?)
  • Frecklefoot (commented on 81.154.105.3)
  • TBC (no change till it's a guideline)
  • PresN (brought up Half-Life series)
  • JosephK19 (suggested new guidelines)

Notes[edit]

  • JQF has a lot of points, and isn't against the idea of a standard.
  • Many people are against editing before a consensus is reached (such as TBC).
  • Combination's arguments are that if there's no discussion, there's a consensus for the change.
  • People don't want sides to form (Ned Scott).
  • None of the people involved are opposed to the V-D-E links.
  • Most of JQF and all of AMIB's comments were ommitted as it constitutes the majority of the content.
