Poquito Más (The Original Baja Taco Stand) is a group of privately owned restaurants in southern California specializing in freshly-prepared, “Baja California style” Mexican cuisine. Founded in October of 1984, Poquito Más was one of the first restaurants to take a fresh-and-healthy approach to Mexican food.[citation needed] [1]

Specializing in ‚“fast-casual” dining, (We don't serve fast food, we serve fresh food as fast as we can, [2] is another trademarked slogan), all food is prepared fresh to order. The restaurant uses no canned ingredients, makes all their tortillas fresh on-site, and uses no Trans-fat ingredients in any of their recipes.[1]

Inspired by the beach-side taco stands he visited with his brother, Kevin McCarney opened the first Poquito Más in Studio City, California in a 600-square-foot space on October 5, 1984. Eschewing formal advertising, McCarney believes in building customer loyalty and word-of-mouth to build his business.[2]

As of December, 2008, there were 11 Poquito Mas restaurants in the greater Los Angeles Area. [3]
