User:Trusilver/Especially Clueful Wikipedians

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wikipedia seems to have a shortage of clueful people who, while I might not always agree with them, embody the vision of Wikipedia. This is my list, my hall of fame if you will, of those editors that are the best at what they do. Some of them are friends, some of them I barely know because we work on different areas of the project, and some I really don't care for at all; but I respect the hell out of all of them.

User:AGK, alas retired, has always stood out in my mind as one of the most prolific of editors on the project. He was one of the first administrators I met when I came to Wikipedia and proved to be an abundant source of knowledge and guidance. Every time I have started to get fed up with Wikipedia in the past I have noticed that he involves himself in much more stressful areas of the project and never gave up. I hope that he will be back soon.

User:Deacon of Pndapetzim has shown me that being uncompromising isn't necessarily a bad thing. He is a constant reminder that while I'm sifting through a never ending workload of projectspace tasks, I have to remember that above everything else, this is an encyclopedia. Thinking of him makes me remember that I have an article gathering dust in my sandbox that I really need to get back to writing.

User:Ikip or User:Inclusionist or User:Travb or whatever he is calling himself this week. I'm not going to pretend that I don't generally dislike this individual. However, there is something admirable about being in a position where you are constantly getting smacked around by other editors and are still able to stand your ground. It's the extremists among us that keep us from getting too comfortable and allowing groupthink to set in.

User:Giggy is among the most knowledgeable editors on the project. He should be an administrator a hundred times over by now. It is only through the bureaucracy of a broken RFA system that he is not. He is a prime example that you can display excellence in both mainspace and projectspace without sacrificing either.

User:ChildofMidnight is WP:BOLD personified. All too often I see new editors that get sucked into the pre-administrator game, doing everything that they can to offend nobody and jump through all the right hoops to get their mop as quickly as possible. Childofmidnight is a refreshing change from that. Only on the project since November of '08, he has already got his hands in almost every facet of Wikipedia, both articles and projectspace. He is in every way what new editors should be all about.

User:Geogre is on the very large list of those (myself included) would never have a snowball's chance in hell of passing an RFA if we had to do it all over again because we have committed the great sin of speaking our minds about something. I have long been impressed with Geogre and his insistence on speaking his mind regardless of whether it is well received or not. If we could stack the ArbCom with a half dozen clones of him, I would feel much better about the project as a whole than I do right now.

User:Alansohn. I don't care what conflicts or difficulties he gets into with other areas of the project, he is the best vandalism patroller that I have ever seen. He is also the only one that I trust unquestioningly, I know that when he files an WP:AIV report, it is going to be accurate every time.
