Multimedia Tools

These are tools that use combination of content forms or multimedia technologies. The word "multimedia' comes from two words "multi" many and "media" system of communication. These tools played a vital role in Education, Entertainment, Publishing, Journalism, Engineering, Mass Media Communication, Advertising and Science and Technology.

Importance and Benefits of Multimedia Tools in Education

Audio Visual Room

Deeper Understanding. Multimedia takes advantage of the brain capacity to make connections of visual and verbal content. It leads to deeper understanding that will sooner be applied to other life situations.

Improved Problem- Solving. Human brain is into visual processing. The use of text, video, images, and animations stimulates the brain and increases students' attention and retention. Multimedia learning environment helps to identify and solve problems easily compared to learning by textbooks.

Increase positive emotion. Multimedia learning environment creates positive emotion among students allowing them to learn better. and be more proactive.

Access to a vast variety of information. Students today are better equipped to search the information they need by using computers, tablets, smartphones and the internet. Sharing of information and participating in the class is done in a confident manner.

World Exploration. It is the difference of multimedia learning to traditional learning environment. It offers a great experience in exploring fresh concepts in Science, History and Geography. It has a direct effect in ones' growth as a students and individual.

Google Meet. Google Meet is a video communication service produced by Google. It allows you to create meetings and let other join for group meetings and discussions.

Zoom. Zoom is a videotelephony software program developed by Zoom Video Communications. Unlike Google Classroom, Zoom was commonly use in corporate meetings and business negotiations.

Documents

Microsoft PowerPoint. Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation program that allow users to create slides with customize transition, effects and design. This comes to be handy and develops creativity. The output can be used in presentation in schools and companies.

Microsoft Word. Microsoft word offers specialized tools for data and documents, from customizing the paper size, performing grammar check and spelling and converting file to desired format.

Canva. Canva is all around and easy to use graphic design program for creating invitations, banners, presentations, posters, social media designs and more.

Learning Management

Google Classroom. Classroom helps students and teachers organize student work, boost collaboration, and foster better communication. The teacher will post a classwork and the students will submit it. The work rating will be turned in to the students.

Edmodo. Edmodo allows teachers to share engaging lessons and distribute classwork to the students. It also creates an engaging environment for teachers and students to communicate and share ideas.

Games

Kahoot! Kahoot! is a game- based learning platform that allows teachers to create and share games or trivia quizzes that students will be joining. It creates a fun and lively classroom.
