Pierre Larcin is a long-time problem editor who has been on a campaign, both here and at other language Wikis, to insert negative information into articles on Rotary International. He has been indefinitely blocked on .fr; his accounts here are not blocked but have been abandoned, and he has used a range of IPs to continue to attack both the Rotary article and editors attempting to maintain that article in a neutral manner.

Actions[edit]

Pierre Larcin's main thrust of his editing on various Wikis is to insert his point-of-view that Rotary International is not a beneficial organization, but that it has been involved in various nefarious schemes and not living up to its promises. His first edit under User:PierreLarcin sets the tone for his entire history here; shortly after, he tagged Rotary International with an {{npov}} tag, and appeared at the Rotary International talk page, which quickly spiraled into the toilet. A number of editors joined the discussion, but went unheeded. The argument was so vicious that it actually drew interest off-wiki.

These activities have been Pierre's modus operandi since his joining. A look at any of the contributions lists above will prove that statement (though for some time in 2007 he participated on other articles... which eventually involved edits involving Rotary); Pierre continues to attempt to insert his viewpoint into the article, and when editors attempt to ensure the article says neutral by removing his edits, he accuses them of "wikifiddling," being members of Rotary (disclaimer: I'm not; in fact, I dislike most of the Rotary members I've met, but I can't speak for others), being communists, and so on. In mid-2007, he attempted to launch an arbitration case that was rejected - a read through that will set out quite a lot of the issues with Pierre's actions.

Since the rejection of the arbitration case, Pierre has essentially moved into the realm of problem editor - editing disruptively through IPs on the Rotary article and talk page. I and others have filed incident reports on these concerns (see other links in that section for earlier discussions); the general viewpoint has been that with the IPs involved, the best approach is to semi-protect where necessary, which I have been doing. However, Pierre has recently begun following the edits of his combatants, specifically myself and Ariconte (talk · contribs) to this point. The edit summaries of these edits affirm the source. Here] he reverts my cleanup of vandalism. This seems to be his new disruption.

Intentions[edit]

It is blatantly obvious that Pierre Larcin will not play nice; he is a single-purpose user who has a very specific point of view and will not accept others into his world view. The purpose of this report and the request for a community ban of this editor is to allow me to then take that ban to checkusers and, using it as a basis, see if some sort of range block will help to shut this tendentious editor out of the project entirely; failing that, I will pursue an abuse report to the ISP involved to attempt that route.

Bluntly: I'm tired of cleaning up after Pierre, especially if he's going to start reverting our cleanup work elsewhere out of petty spite.
