Evil Iguana Productions is a YouTube account with (as of January, 14th, 2012) 94,384 subscribers, 32,330,407 video views. They are known[citation needed] for their spoofs on The Dark Knight (which is their most popular youtube video) and the Twilight Trailer (their 2ndmost popular.) The team has been featured in Blast Magazine [1] They started building a solid fanbase with the comedy show "The Allen and Craig Show." Evil Iguana Productions consist of many cast members, but mainly seven people.

Present Evil Iguana Productions (Evil Iguana Productions LLC)[edit]

Evil Iguana Productions in 2014 became an actual production company called Evil Iguana Productions LLC. Allen Murphy rejoined Evil Iguana Productions and now owns Evil Iguana Productions LLC with Craig Deering. Evil Iguana Productions LLC was formed after the movie When The Lights Go Out was filmed. This was a movie written and directed by Craig Deering. Craig and Allen seem to be the only members who are in just about every video. However on the Evil Iguana Productions Tumblr it mentions about 6 people including Craig and Allen. The four others are people who help out a lot with the background of Evil Iguana Productions. Tim Crawford and Joe Crutchfield do sound while Robin Andrews acts in half their videos and does makeup and Callie Stephens helps produce and acts in multiple EIP videos. Evil Iguana Productions now has a new youtube channel called Evil Iguana Productions LLC which still shows all of their old videos.

Semi's and Failures[edit]

Their first video was called "A Fact About Milk" in 2007. Evil Iguana Productions gave their comment on "A Fact About Milk." "It is a fact that a person can not drink a gallon of milk in under an hour and not throw up. Two ambitious teenagers decided to prove the scientific community wrong. Did they succeed?" No

They soon started their Number 23 (or 47) spoof. It makes fun the Jim Carrey movie The Number 23. It was known as a Semi-Hit on the Youtube Meter as "it didn't portray many characters as a whole" commented a fellow youtuber. It was panned and written in 2007, but the crew was not given a chance to finish it until AFTER The Dark Knight Trailer Spoof.

Shortly after the Number 23 Spoof they started making short random clips like: "The Sprite Banana Challenge", (a followup to "A Fact About Milk") "Chase's Chocolate Stories"

The Allen and Craig Show[edit]

Evil Iguana Productions rose to semi-fame with their variety webshow called, "The Allen and Craig Show," [2] which stars Allen Murphy and Craig Deering portraying characters of the same name. Most of the 25 episodes revolve around Allen wanting to become famous, Craig's fear of girls, and other ploys and contests to get "more YouTube hits". Sometimes the skits are very farfetched. One example of this is in episode 12, when Allen and Craig's cameraman is kidnapped by two thugs (played by Kyle Bridges and former EIP member Dan Drake). Running gags in the show usually include Craig eating a green apple or banana and Allen typically walking around without his shirt. Another trademark is Allen's infamous army helmet, a prop he uses to be recognizable, and the actors' constantly insisting that they have no friends. A main punchline of the show is Allen's "You're such an asshole, Craig" which can be heard throughout most of the episodes, if not all.

The original premise of the show is that Allen wants to become famous via YouTube, and drags his best friend along on his antics. Allen will do anything to get fame, glory, and girls. Craig however, couldn't care less, he just wants to go on with his normal life and not have a camera follow him around documenting his life. There is also an extra character, the cameraman, often played by Joe Korbel (they occasionally have a guest cameraman when Joe is onscreen or busy). There are also guest stars from the Evil Iguana Production cast and crew that appear occasionally on the show. They created 25 episodes of the series with the finale being on posted on October, 1, 2010.

The Dark Knight spoof[edit]

Evil Iguana Productions got their big YouTube break with their The Dark Knight spoof, which got extreme attention and therefore has the title of YouTube blockbuster.[citation needed] The Dark Knight Trailer spoof was a success both in views and critical attention. Because of this, and the Twilight Trailer spoof, Evil Iguana Production at the time was the 56th most subscribed director on YouTube of all time. Here is a comment made by the actors:

"To set the record straight about the last line in the spoof, it is not at all related about Heath Ledger, that never even crossed our minds until it was mentioned in the comments, we just thought the line was funny and could be related to heros in superhero movies. We would not make fun of a man who created the coolest and scariest villain to hit the movie screen in years. Give Heath Ledger the Oscar!! The trailer took a couple months of planning, finding locations and time to make the costumes, it took 3 weeks to film/edit the movie. We made this video just for fun because we are all very very excited about the real Dark Knight Movie and couldn't wait any longer to see it so we decided to make our own. There are real shots of Chicago in here, but all main scenes were filmed in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. The deck of cards is a "Hooters" pack, so there is no nudity on them lol the blurry video makes it seem that way though and the music is all from the "Batman Begins" soundtrack. For everyone wondering about the joker costume...we made the entire thing from scratch, alot of [sic] looking for the right colored fabrics and finding patterns that matched his clothing...it took a while to make, and the dress shirt we made a stencil of hexagons and drew them in."[citation needed]

As of December 29, 2009, the spoof has just under 8,000,000 views on youtube. [citation needed]

Twilight Trailer Spoof[edit]

After the initial success of the Dark Knight Trailer spoof, the Evil Iguana team had several requests to spoof the Twilight Trailer. The spoof covers all aspects of the trailer and the team adds in their own little jokes. Allen Murphy plays Edward while Robin Andrews plays Bella. Some of the more prominent jokes are when the car is headed towards Bella (Andrews) and instead of Edward (Murphy) jumping in front of the car to save her, he is distracted by a "hot girl," and therefore the car crashes into Bella. Another is when Laurent (Eric Mercado) is detailing how evil James (Craig Deering) is. After referring to his "unparalleled strength," he insults James' fashion sense. Yet another is the final scene, where in the actual trailer Edward pulls Bella onto his back and runs out the door and into the woods. In the EIP trailer, Edward and Bella slam into the sliding glass door. Edward loudly shouts, "WHO SHUT THAT?". Because of their success on the twilight spoof, Allen Murphy(Edward)Robin Andrews(Bella) and Craig Deering(James) had been invited to Twicon a Twilight convention held in Dallas, Texas at the Sheridan Dallas Hotel.

On August 3, 2009, EIP also uploaded a spoof of one of the last scenes from Twilight, where the Cullens destroy James at the ballet studio.

Silent Night[edit]

Evil Iguana Productions started filming for their feature film "Silent Night". It was EIP's first attempt at a 30-45 minute dark drama. The plot is that two Months after the Dark Knight set in Christopher Nolans Batman world, the Joker has escaped and is now holding a family hostage on Christmas Eve. Once again his plan is to prove to Gotham that one bad day can break anyone. Now Gordon needs to find a way to save the family when his only hope, Batman, is still wanted by the police.

The film was released on December 22nd 2008. The response was extremely positive reviews. Such as:

"Very excited to watch this, I liked how the dark knight soundtrack was used in the background, and how it stayed consistent to the movie. Many of the quotes were either rephrasing the movie, or sounded very much like something the characters would say. Obviously, they didn't have all of the resources that Nolan and his team did, but I think this served as a continuation of the dark knight, and gave everyone a good idea of what could (should) happen in the sequel. Bravo!!!"

There were also people with negative reviews such as:

"That was average. It didn't live up to my expectations. The Jokers acting wasn't as good as it was in The Dark Knight Spoof. Batman at the end, looked really retarded, he acted like a dumbass. What's with his voice? This was a big waste of my computer time! Though I hope you make more movies, with WAY better scripts, and maybe add one minority actor, please! The commissioner's mustache looked like a giant turd/cockroach. What he coudn't grow one? He wasn't very audible either. It sucked. I would say two out of five stars."

Later after its release, it was taken down from YouTube because of copyrights from WarnerBrothers. Craig Deering and Allen Murphy were running out of time on the release date, and used the soundtrack music instead of making their own. Even though WB forced YouTube to take down SilentNight, it was still uploaded by EIP cast members on several other video sites, possibly such as Vimeo or Metacafe.

Twicon[edit]

Three of the Evil Iguana Members (Murphy, Deering, and Andrews) will be at Twicon 2009 to discuss the Twilight Trailer Spoof. [3]
