Patrick Aloysius Ewing, Jr. was born on April 17th, 1984. He is the son of former NBA legend Patrick Ewing Sr. Currently Ewing Jr. plays center for the Charlotte Bobcats.

High school Career[edit]

Patrick Ewing Jr. attended St. Peter's High school in New York City. It was a choice he and his parents decide would be best for his basketball career. The school would be out of state, so Ewing would have to live there. Patrick loved basketball as much as his father did. While in high school, Ewing Jr. was nearly 6'11 and weighted 237 pounds. His coach told the media after they won the state championship that, "Patrick is going place. He is the best player I have seen in a long time." On May 22, 2002, Patrick Ewing Jr. announced he would forgo college and enter the 2002 NBA draft. He received numerous offers, but though he would never get another chance like this again.

Rookie Season, 2002-2003[edit]

Patrick Ewing Jr. was taken in the first round of the NBA draft, as the 3rd overall pick. The Charlotte Bobcats got Ewing from a trade pick with the Washington Warriors. Ewing Jr. played his first game on October 30, 2002. He had 29 points and 12 assists. This was the beginning of a prominent career. He led his team to a 54-28 record, and made it to his first post season play. They made it to the Semi-Finals, but would be swept by the Miami Heat. He also won the NBA rookie of the year award.

2003-2004 Season[edit]

During this season, Ewing Jr. improved his stats drastically, and made it back to the post season. This time the Bobcats made it all the way to the Conference Finals, but lost in 6 games to the Boston Celtics.

2004-2005 Season[edit]

This season Patrick did not play at all, he suffered and Achilles tendon tear in the pre-season. Because of Ewing Jr. not playing, the Bobcats struggled to adjust to playing without a steady center. The Bobcats missed the playoffs by 2 games, which was disappointing for them. They had hoped to continue right where they left off last season.

2005-2006 Season[edit]

Ewing Jr. had a remarkable year once more, he even won the NBA comeback player of the year award. The Bobcats were back in the playoffs for the third year while Ewing Jr. was playing. The Bobcats clinched the number 1 seed, and were favored to win the NBA Finals. But that wasn't so. They were eliminated yet again in the first round. Ewing Jr. said after the elimination, "I'm sick and tired of getting here and losing. I guarantee we will win a title in the future."

2006-2007 Season[edit]

Patrick was quiet this season. He did put up an average of 28 points a game, but that wasn't good enough for them to qualify for the playoffs. Charlotte finished with an embarrassing 30-52 record.

2007-2008 Season[edit]

Ewing Jr. had another bad injury this year. He had a torn hamstring in the first game of the season, and missed 70 games. He came back and played the last 12 games, but the Bobcats were out of playoff contention by then.

2008 Off-season[edit]

The media criticized Ewing Jr. a lot during the off-season. Saying he struggled to win in the playoffs and that he wasn't clutch when he needed to be. They also said he is to "injury prone." Ewing Jr. said, "I am better than most players and at I may be hurt, but I am a good and loyal player to my team. My time is coming. Mark my words, I will get a ring."

2008-2009 Season[edit]

The last two seasons, the Bobcats finished below .500 and missed the playoffs. Ewing Jr. was also plagued by injury. But the Bobcats had a remarkable turn around. They had a 33 game win streak, clinched the number 1 seed, and Ewing Jr. won his second NBA comeback player award. When the Bobcats played the rival Boston Celtics in the Conference Finals, they were locked in a tight battle in game 7. Ewing made two clutch lay-ups to give them the lead, but the Celtic's Ray Allen made a three to give them the one point lead. On the last possession of the game, Ewing Jr. was driving up the paint when he was tripped. Ewing Jr. was furious with the officials for no call, but was more angry at Kevin Garnet. He called him a "cheater" and "sore loser". The Celtics would win their second NBA title.

2009-2010 Season[edit]

Ewing Jr. made it again to the playoffs, but the Bobcats were the last seed. They suffered a loss to the Pacers in the first round. The media again said Ewing will "never get a ring." Ewing Jr. just ignored it.

2010-2011 Season[edit]

Ewing Jr. and the Bobcats had to win the last game of the season to qualify to the playoffs. But they were shelled at home by the New York Knicks. Ewing Jr. was embarrassed by his performance with just 10 points.

2011-2012 Season[edit]

Patrick was determined to make it to the NBA Finals, and he wasn't going to be stopped. The Bobcats clinched the number 2 seed. They rolled over the Pacers in a blow-out win in all 4 games. Then they defeated the Pistons in 4 games. It was back to the Conference Finals. Ewing Jr. would face Derek Rose and the Bulls. The series went to a 7th game. With under a minute left, Ewing Jr. carried his team and made 3 clutch lay-ups, and the go ahead 3 pointer. With time winding down, Rose took the last shot that would have tied the game, but it missed. Ewing Jr. silenced his critics with his stellar play. This was his first Conference Final victory. In the post game interview, Ewing Jr. had this to say. "This isn't the hardware I want. The one I want is made of gold. I promise the city of Charlotte we will bring it home!" Patrick Ewing Jr. was going to play the Dumont Huskies in the Finals. The Huskies had their own super-star with Eric Wiener.

2012 NBA Finals[edit]

The Charlotte Bobcats are playing the Dumont Huskies for the NBA Championship. The two main players for each team is, Patrick Ewing Jr. (Bobcats) and Eric Wiener (Huskies). The Huskies are favored to win in 5 games. As the underdog, Ewing Jr. said "I don't care if we aren't favored. We are going to shock the world." Currently, the Huskies won game 1, and game two is scheduled for tonight.

Patrick has a wife Amy. She is from a white background. The couple were married on June 5, 2008. They also have a baby daughter, who is named June Ewing.

Forgoing college[edit]

When asked about forgoing college to play in the NBA, Ewing said the following."I thought at the time I was going to get drafted higher than most. I also felt if I waited and went to college, I might not have been able to play for a great team. Such as the Charlotte Bobcats. I really don't regret it." Patrick also said that, when his NBA career is over, he will get a degree. He wants the fulfillment of getting a complete education. He will major in Financial Marketing.
