The 2009-10 UNLV Runnin' Rebels basketball team represents the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The team is coached by Lon Kruger, returning for his sixth year with the Runnin' Rebels. The Runnin' Rebels play their home games at the Thomas & Mack Center on UNLV's main campus in Las Vegas, Nevada and are a member of the Mountain West Conference. The Runnin' Rebels looked to rebound after a disappointing 2008-09 campaign in which the team was knocked out in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament, missing out on the NCAA tournament for the first time in two years. The Runnin' Rebels would receive an invitation to play in the NIT and were a 5th seed. The Runnin' Rebels would be knocked out in the First Round of the NIT by the 4th seeded Kentucky, 70–60.
