Hi all,

My name is Steven De Ceuster and I am from Belgium.

I'm an engineer currently working on a major chemical plant automation turnaround.

My most important passtime is Quiz.

I'm the chairman and founder of the Flemish Quiz Ranking, and chairman of the Belgian Quiz Association. I wrote treatises on quiz ethics and on how to organise a successful quiz and I assisted Belgian broadcasting companies with developing and testing quiz formats. Apart from having organised dozens of quizzes in Belgium, I also organised the first international quiz encounter between England and Belgium in Bromley (2003), practically single-handedly.

In 2004 I organised the European Quiz Championships (EQC) in Ghent, Belgium, with representatives of 7 countries and I participated in the organisation of the EQC in Tallinn, Estonia in 2005, the 2006 EQC near Paris, France, the 2007 EQC in Blackpool, UK and the 2008 EQC is Oslo, Norway.

As of 2004 I annually organise the Belgian leg of the World Quiz Championships (WQC), as well as being heavily involved in the question setting and general international organisation of this event. The EQC and WQC are now incorporated under the wings of the International Quizzing Assoc. (IQA), a not-for-profit organisation based in the UK of which I am co-founder and trustee.
