Ricardo P. Lloyd is a British actor. His family is of Jamaican descent. Lloyd is known for his work in British theatre, film and tv.
Early life and education[edit]
Lloyd went to the Secondary school Capital City Academy he went down a bad path hanging around with the wrong crowd trying to belong. Which lead him to getting into fights and failing most of his GCSES. Lloyd later tried to redeem himself by staying on to the school's sixth-form to retake some GCSES and further study. However, staff continued to stereotype him. Lloyd went on to study at Harrow College a Btec Level 3 Extended Diploma (2011-2013) He then went on to Buckinghamshire New University to study Performing Arts; Film TV & Stage (2013-2016). In 2016, the same year he graduated Lloyd decided to do a MBA at Anglia Ruskin University.[1][2]
Career[edit]
Lloyd appeared in different theatrical productions at Buckinghamshire New University. In his last year of University where he starred as the lead role Anthony in short film 'University life' which came second place in BIFTA short film competition in 2016. Acting agents wanted to sign Lloyd on their books but he was too focused on completing his undergraduate performing arts degree at the time.
For Lloyd final year dissertation he wrote and directed his own short film entitled 'Colour lines' under the supervision of Dr Jeremy Kelly and Dr Nicholas Fryer.
In 2019 Lloyd was apart of The Shakespeare walks and Shakespeare in the abbey with The Royal Shakespeare Company working with alongside Mark Rylance.These shows was to celebrate as part Shakespeare's birthday. Lloyd palyed the role of Romeo in the production Excluded by Intermission Theatre In 2019.[3][4][5]

Lloyd generated attention he was seen out publicly with an eye patch on with the word 'excluded' on it. It was created for him by British visual artist Eugene Ankomah. When asked by Vanessa Feltz on her breakfast radio show what it meant. Lloyd said it was a symbol to represent how society ‘only chooses to see what they want to see concerning young people or people that come from where he does'[6]
In 2020, Lloyd was listed on The Voice Newspaper 2020: Top 20 ones to watch out for in business, sport, culture and politics.[7]
Personal life[edit]
In 2020, Lloyd personal life was played out in the media. He was listed on The Voice Newspaper 2020 top 20 ones to watch out for and was working on a number of different projects that year building up his acting career then suddenly Covid-19 hit. He found himself going through a dark period he became homeless.[8]
The stories kept on circulating on the actor; 'Police appeal after actor is attacked by unknown woman in Lambeth'.[9]
One journalist added the following 'Because of his facial scars Ricardo will also have to step away from the camera and put his acting career on pause.'[10]
