A list of userboxes I made myself!
I occasionally alter extant userboxes to make them work for me, somtimes because I think I can improve on them content-wise, but more frequently because they're cool content-wise but the formatting doesn't mesh with my page. So if it occurs to you that some of my boxes are very similar to others that you've seen, there's a good chance it's because they are. But there's a good reason for it.
On the other hand, a lot of them are totally original, and I hope you'll like them. To add one to your page, or any other page for that matter, just copy the text in the "code" column next to the box you want, then paste it onto the edit screen for the target page. Consider adding userboxes to a table to keep them organized.
Adding some boxes to a user page will automatically add the user's account to a category of users who are fans or adherents of whatever the box represents, as indicated by the appearance of the title of the group at the bottom of the user page (such as "Wikipedians who like The X-Files," or "Wikipedians who read Orson Scott Card"). These titles appear segregated from the page proper, take up almost no space, and have no practical effect on the use of Wikipedia, although inclusion in such a group can and may put a user in contact with users who have similar interests. Not all topics have organized groups, however.

This userbox is very similar to one that I did not make. Actually, I started with that one and turned it into this one. The thing is, in the movie, the knights say "ham and jam and Spam," not "jam and ham and Spam," a la the original box. So I altered it accordingly to create this box. I also added a link to the page on "Spamalot," which, if you don't know, is a musical based on the movie.

I realize that a picture of a bowie knife or Samson himself would've been more appropriate for these 'boxes, but you would not believe how hard it is to get a good picture of either of those things onto Wikipedia and also get permission to use them that way. Plus, a lot of things don't look so good at 50px.

This box was also made from someone else's box. I liked the original, but its size messed up the format of my user page, so I altered the box to make it fit in the table with the rest of what I have come to consider my "normal," 50px boxes.

Miscellaneous, Or Something[edit]
This box is kind of a retort to another box that looks just like it, except that box has the word "mankind" struckout on the left, and, obviously, speaks in favor of gender-neutral language. Don't get me wrong - I don't object to gender-neutral language as a concept. Maybe it's because I speak a little Spanish (when speaking Spanish one uses masculine pronouns when referring to any group that includes or may include one or more males), maybe it's because I'm old-fashioned... Maybe it's because I feel it's unfair to assume that a person is deprecating females when they say "mankind," or "guys," or "all men are created equal." Whatever the reason, I simply can't drum up any support for the movement to foist gender-neutrality on English speakers. And I say "English speakers" because, while it might be possible to speak in totally neutral English, there do exist languages, like Spanish, for which there are rules about that sort of thing, and in which, therefore, it would not be possible. It's a losing battle guys.
