Margaret (Maggie) Oliver is an English former Detective Constable in the Greater Manchester Police[1], whistleblower[2], and media personality[3].

Greater Manchester Police Career[4][edit]

Maggie joined Greater Manchester Police in 1997 as a Police Constable. She remained with the force until her resignation in March 2013 in response to the handling of the Rochdale child sex abuse ring.[5]

Exposing the Rochdale child sex abuse ring[6][edit]

A Detective Constable, Maggie was the lead investigator on the Rochdale child sex abuse ring case for Greater Manchester Police. She left the force in 2012 in disgust of the handling of the case by Greater Manchester Police and Crown Prosecution Service.[7]

Portrayal in Three Girls[8][edit]

Maggie was portrayed by Lesley Sharp in Three Girls, a BBC drama about the Rochdale child sex abuse ring.[9]. She also acted as a consultant for the series.[10]

Appearance in Celebrity Big Brother[11][edit]

Maggie appeared in Celebrity Big Brother 21, entering on day 1 and was evicted on day 18.[12]
