Shams khel is the sub-branch of Khadar Khani khel of swati tribe of pathans.Actually Khadar Khan baba of Chappargram had many sons.later on his descendents were named as khada khani,he had a son named Shams Khan.The descendents of Shams Khan were named as shams khel.They are mainly resided in Chappargram village of District Battagram ,Khyber-pakhtunkhwa.They are also resided in the small town ´´Kandar´ of Chappargram village.They are one of the bid land owner of the swati tribe of pashtuns.A few families of shams khel tribe are resided in tanto village of District Mansehra and Srilanka. The Shams khel from the small town of Kandar Chappargram are:
- Shah Jehan Khan baba,her descendents are resided in kandar chappargram.He played a distinguished role in the recognition of Battagram with NWFP till the Battagram was a tribal area and a tehsil of District Mansehra.He was the first man who agreed on the establishment of a police station in Battagram,although he was opposed by many people but he had the support of many people from Ajmera and Chappargram.He told his people that having police station in Battagram they will be free on any kind of cruelty as there will be rule and fear of police government.The first ever police officer who was teased by many people of Battagram ,the Shah Jehan baba gave shelter but later on the people understood the importance of police station.Shah Jehan Khan baba was died in marach 2003 at the age of 95 years.He was given very much respect by the people of Battagram.
- Tasleem Khan the former political agent to miranshah north waziristan,pakistan.He also has served as DRO of Mansehra and Political agent to Kala Dhaka or Black Mountain of Hazara,Khyber-pakhtunkhwa.
- Gulfam Sabir the famous poet amongst the poets of Abaseen Pashto Academy Peshawer.
