James Richard Blake is an American artist whose paintings and drawings exhibit some of America's most precious and shrinking resources. He is particularly renowned and celebrated in his adopted state of Texas and in France. In 2006, First Lady Laura Bush commissioned him to create the official White House Christmas card. He is currently under consideration for the Presidential Medal of Arts and Humanities, and a documentary film of his life and work is in pre-production.
