In the interest of disclosure with the new "paid contributors" policy, I wanted to declare affiliations. I am a long time contributor to pages having to do with information policy and various topics upon which I'm a professional and amateur (in the best sense, I hope) authority -- I've been working on the net for over three decades now. My specialization, somewhat by accident, over the years, has become Internet privacy. I am the former executive director of the Tor Project, and currently work for https://blackphone.ch as their Privacy Evangelist as of this writing, which means that I advocate for privacy positive policies and such with the public through punditry. This is, however, me doing right livelihood and following my bliss -- I don't write anything in particular I wouldn't have written on my own, lucky me! :) But I want to be up front about it all, so there it is. Really, I'm a very tiny contributor here, more likely to add a reference or correct spellings. Just glad to be here.
