ViewChange.org is an online video platform run by Link TV and funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which aims to raise awareness of issues surrounding international development.[1] It uses Semantic Web technology to create links between videos and associated content from other online sources, by utilizing the APIs of organizations including Zemanta, Daylife, Freebase, Truveo, and SocialActions.org. [1][2][3] The site was designed by agency Method[4] and built by San Francisco web development company Definition LLC.[5]

Plans for the site were first announced in February 2010, and a private beta was launched in early July 2010.[6] The site is currently in public beta.

On April 30, 2010, Link TV also launched the ViewChange Online Film Contest, a competition for filmmakers to produce five-minute videos about progress being made toward achieving the Millennium Development Goals. The contest is offering $50,000 in prizes, and judges include author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, actors Gael García Bernal and Danny Glover, U.S. Senator Daniel Inouye, singer Angélique Kidjo, and director Wim Wenders. Finalists were announced at TEDxChange London on September 23, and the winners are due to be announced in mid-October, 2010.[7][8][9]
