I'm a journalist / writer currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I worked for many years at Newsweek and my writing has appeared in a variety of consumer, business and trade publications in the United States and the United Kingdom.
My interests and expertise include:
- Travel and Tourism - I've written feature and business articles for various consumer and trade publications. I have written extensively about Oakland and Alameda, California.
- Technology - I was an editor at several Ziff-Davis publications, including Computer Life UK. I've written about, use and developed training materials for cloud computing content management systems including Wordpress and ServiceNow. I also write about ecommerce and big data.
- Theater - I star in that most important of roles - the loyal ticket buyer. I'm particularly interested in small venue theater.
- Sailing - Activities and credentials include:
- Writing about sailing for several publications. - Crewing on race boats in competitions in the U.K. and the San Francisco Bay area. - Volunteering for nonprofits that take kids sailing and promote the sport - Certifications: 100 Ton Masters captains license with the United States Coast Guard.
