Steve Saluto new article content ... Steve Saluto' (born October 10, 1966) is a guitarist, musician, songwriter and producer.

Biography[edit]

Steve Saluto began playing guitar at the age of twelve. At the age of fiteen, inspired by the Eddie Van Halen solo on the Michael Jackson Beat It started to learn seriously the electric guitar. After many solo albums In 2008 he formed the super rock band La Famiglia Superstar [1] with Marco Mendoza, Atma Anur and Terry Ilous (singer for the bands XYZ and Great White ). The band released the debut album in 2009 and then started to tour.


Currently he plays sessions and works as a studio recording producer in his own recording studio[2][3]

Guitar playing style[edit]

Saluto' style is known because he is able to mix various musical genre in his playing rangin from rock to blues, from jazz to fusion, and soul. This versatility led him to play and collaborate, during his career, with musicians such as Buddy Miles [4], Darryl Jones[4] Jeff Berlin, Danny Gottlieb, Phil Palmer, Richie Kotzen[5] and many others. Saluto in his playing utilizes an hybrid picking way of playing using the pick and the fingers. In his influences he lists George Benson, Jimi Hendrix, and Eddie Van Halen.

Instruments and equipment[edit]

The equipment of Saluto has always been very simple over the years. He has used lot of different electric guitars for most of his career till 2010 when Manne Guitars issued a Steve Saluto signature model fitted with three custom made Seymour Duncan pickups.

Saluto started his career playing Marshall amplifiers then he switched to Fender Amplifiers in the early 2000s and then to DV MARK Amplifiers in 2011.

He prefers to play live with very few pedals usually with several versions of Sobbat Drivebraker, a tuner and a delay.
