Sark (pronounced Suck) is a group of islands in the English Channel. It has a population of 600+. Sark has its own rules and government, let by Michael Beaumont, and is one of the last feudal countries in Europe, with laws dating back to Norman times.

For example, newcomers cannot live in houses built before 1976, and only the Seigneur of Sark, Michael Beaumont is allowed to keep piegons or an unspayed bitch. However, reforms have been made, the people do not need the Seigneur's permission to get married, women can now inherit land, and the annual payment of a live chicken to the seigneur is now optional. Invasion Attempt[edit]

In August 1990, unemployed nuclear physicist Andre Gardes tried to take over the island using a semi-automatic weapon. He was stopped by the local constable, who took his gun away and he was jumped by a fire brigade [2]. Sark subsequently formed a small armed forces called the Sark Defence Force. A 20-man Army and a 5-man Navy was subsequently formed. They are let by Colonel Anthony de Carteret, son of former Chief Plea Lawrence Philip de Carteret. They are armed with handguns and automatic pistols, and air rifles.
